Vertonghen the Pansy

what's the matter with this guy?

So talented as a footballer, and is a good defender, but he is just a powder puff player isn't he!?

I can maybe forgive him for being wrong side of Remy, but how fack is Loic Remy outmuscling him. A man of Vertonghen's physique!

Lets face it, Remy isn't exactly Frank Bruno is he, but the little shiiit barged him off the ball like it was nothing.

Is it desire? is it just being a pansy?

I was complimentary about Verts after the Everton game - he played well... but he is back to normal last night.

Infact it speaks volumes that Fazio was comfortably the better centre back last night.

I don't get the hype with the guy - ability wise our best CB by a mile, but what is the point in having the ability if you cannot apply your ability to the game, for whatever reason !?

C'mon Jan, you are better than this !

Fair enough Droog, yet I am still waiting for a response to why he is 'talented' which even the OP included.

Edin - Was going more on opinions I've read on your board rather than any personal opinion of the player, he's cleary rated by sections of fans.

-----------

he is... but that selection is decreasing with each lacklustre performance

I think in terms of size and strength comparisons between the two players Vert is quite slight for a defender while Remy is fairly average for a striker, he is no Drogba but he did look that bit more filled out of the two when they were close on the pitch, I think Remy probably has a better core strength but in that moment Vert didn’t really look like he was applying himself, didn’t really brace against Remy, that said I suppose if you’re trying to read the game and be in a position to react you can’t have it both ways, you’ve got to be on your toes but he seemed to be caught between the two.

Remy did him because he was at sixes and sevens from the off, was trying too hard to get back, and subsequently got turned inside out.

TBF Remy made that look a bit too easy.

that's why vertonghen gets the brunt of the stick - he is the one that is apparently class and apparently a top defender

A top defender in whose eyes?
