As it's quiet I thought I'd bring these two up. According to Physio room they're both back for the slippers. Does anyone know if that's accurate?
They'd both be a massive boost for us at the back and going forward.
And (hopefully) we might have a chance to see a settled back 4.
This puts us in a strong position going into the new year, especially if we go into it in 3rd place. Could we maybe even push for second?
Anyway back to the original point, how big a boost is Raw/Shafael?
Rafael and Shaw

Personally I think Valencia and Young are more than enough to face off against Liverpool.

Rafael has been training for weeks, he must be back for Southampton I reckon. Shaw I think is out till New Year

Young is doing ok against teams where we're pushing forward against. But Valencia is awful

Young has been doing well so don't think shaw will get straight back in. Valencia on the other hand should b e dropped asap.

Both cracking FB's in defence and attack. Soonest they are back the better. As good as young and Valencia have been, you can't beat the real thing.

Valencia hasn't been great imo and Rafa should be selected on Monday but I think Valencia will be chosen due to his love of tracking back. I also don't see LVG changing much when we're in form

I read somewhere that LVG wants his players train with the team for atleast a week before playing them. Young and Valencia were hardly tested defensively in matches they played, their final ball was also useless as usual. Shaw and Rafael are far superior FBs imo, sooner they get back into the team the better

Hopefully both are back soon. Fair play to Young for saving the game with his block but people totally overrated his performance cos he beat a few players. Watched the highlights again and his final ball was shocking. Also wouldn't be confident with Young and Valencia against top wingers
