Official pre-match build-up thread.
So after another mind-numbingly boring draw at Hull, we welcome the deluded tarts from down the road. Villa have managed to string together a couple of wins as they pull themselves way from trouble so there is hope for us all.
Alan Irvine meanwhile is approaching win or bust mode. Jeremy has loaded the gun. Defeat to this lot and he will surely pull the trigger. Sad thing is this was all so predictable.
On the other hand the Seals at home is probably the only fixture that might just galvanise the crowd. At least until we are 1-0 down anyway.
So will we complete any of our 400 consecutive passes in the oppositions half? Will Irvine grow a pair and risk playing with wingers? Is Sebastien Blanco even still alive? Has Gabby realised Movember is over the fookkin gremlin?
Teams:
Foster
Gamboa--McAuley--Lescott--Pocognoli
---------Mulumbu--Morrison--------------
Berahino--Blanco--Varela
--------------Anichebe--------------------
Thats the team I'd like to see. Nothing to lose now. Unfortunately Irvine is shìt scared of his own shadow though so I expect a raft full of holding midfield players with an extra couple in there just for protection in a 4-2-1-1-1-1 formation.
Prediction: Two poor teams, who can't score goals = goals. Another
2-2.
Thoughts from Villa fans welcome. Any posts mentioning the European Cup will be deleted.

"Father Ted".
Not living in the UK for a long time I had to look that one up.
So the actor didnt die? He just gave up making people laugh and turned to making them cry. Just goes to show...
WBA to win. 3-2

2-2
Pullis doesn't go (or stay) anywhere that he doesn't have full control over transfers. JP could do a Palace and have him for 6 months, use him like a high class hooker, then dump him in the summer for a low maintenance dish washer type with bingo arms.

Easy for Albion - missed a trick goal difference wise, but keep ahead of Burnley and Irvine gets another month minimum.

Very fair of you, Paddy.
I wouldn't like to think what would have happened had Richardson not been sent off.
A BBC pundit said he couldn't remember Richardson ever being sent off before - an interesting stat if true.
Doesn't help Villa today, though.

Result apart, a harsh sending off ruined the match as a contest. Don't understand why Guzan missed the ball for the goal. He was a mile away.

Harsh? There was nothing harsh about it.
He lunged in, studs up and the only thing he connected with was stephan's ankle
