According to physioroom.com we currently have five first team players injured, these include: Toure, Sturridge, Balotelli, Suso and young Jon Flanagan.
Having looked at that list it makes me wonder where the hell have players like Mamadou Sakho and Fabio Borini gone? Then we have the likes of Javier Manquillo, Alberto Moreno and Emre Can rarely getting game time.
When you compare these five players to the players who are playing ahead of them it's amazing that they aren't getting playing time:
Lovren/Skrtel ahead of Sakho?
Johnson ahead of Manquillo?
Enrique ahead of Moreno?
Gerrard/Allen ahead of Can?
Balotelli/Lambert ahead of Borini?
I know you could argue that both Gerrard and Lambert have been alright, but Can and Borini have rarely been given a chance, and when they have played well (Chelsea and Madrid games), they have been rotated the next game. Our most impressive performance of the season so far was against Spurs, and that included Manquillo, Sakho and Moreno all part of our back four. Why can't they get ahead of the likes of Skrtel and Enrique?
I know they are all fairly young (early 20s), but isn't that what we need right now, especially with so many games?
It begs the question...has they been a fall out between players and Brendan? If so...should he be leaving them out of the side?

So Lallana breaks a couple of ribs so that's the reason why he didn't play on Tuesday. That begs the question as to why he was sat on the bench? Why not put Borini on the bench or even Sinclair as someone suggested the other day. Another baffling decision from the management.

I didn't even realise Borini wasn't on the bench, very strange when Lambert had played so many games and had done a lot of running.

The Redundant Cockwomble,
Would you please continue your great work and create an article about how you expect Liverpool to get crushed on Sunday.
You are always wrong, which will help us feel a little more confident.
You can then as usual edit the article after the match in an attempt to downplay the fact that you are such a throbbing weapon.
Thanks in advance

I think the main reason we are losing less games is easily down to the introduction of both Lucas and Toure. Lucas has been our standout player in breaking teams down, while Toure had brought leadership and organization to the backline.
Skrtel once again looked like a headless chicken the other night, but then again he had Lovren as partner. Johnson once again was giving the ball away with ease. It was no wonder Basel's goal came from their side.
Manquillo and Moreno did nothing wrong to lose their place in the side, while Sakho has proved at international level and for PSG that he deserves a chance, when both Lovren and Skrtel have been dire to say the least.
------------------------------
This. Spot on. Clearly the introduction of Lucas has provided more protection to the back four, whilst Toure has brought in much needed leadership.
Skrtel hasn't improved, he has been dire all season and Sakho should be recalled asap, alongside Toure. Johnson might keep his place over the less experienced Manquillo, but he still looks over the hill now and has been dire for the past 2 seasons - he gets in the team due to hat he did in the past, not what he is doing on the pitch now, which is wrong. I look forward to Flanagan returning and in the meantime would prefer Manquillo to Johnson playing alongside a leadership figure like Toure, and not a bag of nerves that is Skrtel.
One things for sure, having three bag of nerves in Johnson, Skrtel and Mignolet is a recipe for disaster, even if Lucas and Toure manage to steady the ship somewhat in defence.
