What is your view of the Premiership titles won by Chelsea & Manchester City?
On the field, they were clearly worthy winners and the best sides in the land. But how much do you respect these successes compared to other footballing achievements?
I have always said both clubs titles were entirely built on the foundations of extreme financial doping and unprecedented expenditure by billionaire owners. You cannot even compare their achievements to the likes of Arsenal's double winning season of 2002.
Before their successful periods, both sides were relatively small clubs. Indeed, neither was even the biggest club in their own city. As such, the likes of Norwich City or Stoke would have accomplished at least just as either if they had the same financial clout that comes with sugar daddy owners.
In this context, I feel the following footballing achievements are more impressive and worthy of respect than any trophies won by Chelsea or City.
- Everton finishing 4th in 2005 despite being relatively uncompetitive in financial terms.
- Tottenham qualifying for the Champions League in 2010 with a first 11 that cost under £55 million.
- Wigan beating Manchester City in 2013 to win the FA Cup.
- Wimbledon win the FA Cup in 1988.
- Fulham finish runners up of the Europa League in 2010.
- Wycombe Wonderers reach the FA Cup semi final in 2001.
- Birmingham win the league cup final in 2001.
I think there will be many more but these are just some.
Go ahead and name more . There will be hundreds of achievements more impressive than anything purchased by Chelsea or City.
Do you respect City and Chelsea's titles?

I know how you feel most clubs have lost players in the same way and it is annoying but it used to be now and then.
In todays football its just a money merry go round and everything about the game is dictated by money. Money has caused player power which is IMO dreadful for the game.
Money has caused the loan system to be abused totally and I think it needs sorting out.
Rich clubs can buy a player just to stop an opponent getting him then loan him out. Thats just wrong IMO.
I really would not have such major objections if a player who was signed for 10 or 15 million actually gave it heart and soul but most of them dont nowadays (just watch us one day ) this grieves me.
By all means if you have talent as a footballer and earn mega bucks fine but show some respect for the game and the fans by giving your best insteading of posing and working out your next transfer move for more money.
At least I respected Modric for that after we refused to sell him to your lot. He wanted to move but it never stopped him playing his best when he did not get what he wanted.
Eventually the money bubble will burst and personally I cant wait for it to happen.

Grand, it's very true that many players nowadays have little affiliation to the clubs they play for, (although there are exceptions) and it would be great to see a Chelsea team like Docherty's diamonds run the leagues best for the title but in reality I doubt we will ever see those days again.
But in truth I think that was true well before owners like RA or the Mansoors came into the game.

And if that doesn't make sense, it's because I'm on my 2nd bottle of wine

What a slime bag you are, slag me off because I say your club is buying trophies, then suck up to Grandspur for posting the same. FFS make up your mind you hypocritical old bastaAard. I bet you used to suck up to your boss like that to get favours.
Do you speak like Jasper Carrott.

Docherty's diamonds. Funny how you jumped on the bandwagon in the mid 1960s, when that team was about. Glory hunting brummie decides to support Chelsea, instead of one of his local clubs, who were not doing so well. Like all plastics never started supporting them when they were really rubbish.

If you mean do I respect Grandspur for being able present a reasoned, thought out point of view with dignity over someone who presents his flawed, bitter and twisted LIES with all the eloquence of Al Garnett then yes.
You'll never command the respect you apparently feel you deserve because you don't have the self respect to present yourself in a gentlemanly, articulate manner!

Unlike yourself. Pot and kettle come to mind. You are so far up your own arris. Articulate manner, that`s a laugh coming from you. You have been throwing insults at me since I have been on the board, you are a bitter twisted evil poster that deserves no respect, so don`t come asking for any. Sorted.

Funny how Brummie started supporting Chelsea when they were flirting with the top of the table in 1965, and his native club were bottom and about to get relegated. The original plastic glory hunter, deserted Birmingham City to become a plastic chavvy.

I make exceptions in my behaviour for particularly vulgar people like you.
I actually dislike myself for the loathing you provoke in me!

Spare us all the sob stories FFS. It's an Internet forum for football chat, not a confession box at the local church.
