Birthday-boy Cazorla and Giroud are rightly getting a lot of the plaudits, with some great finishing, but fair play to the back 4 and the team in general for putting in a pretty solid display. Given that we had a makeshift back 4, the oft-criticised Flamini shielding them and the imposing pair of Cazorla and Ox in the middle, we were actually pretty hard to break down and limited Newcastle to very few chances.
Debuchy marshaling alongside Per worked unexpectedly well, and Bellerin is continuing to look classy. Whilst he is a bit light-weight, the same can be said for Gibbs and Cashley, and it never stopped them becoming top fullbacks.
Whilst we were clearly missing a bit of experience when it came to their goal, it was very satisfying for the team to take that victory and show such desire. COYG

Attack is our best form of defence, and luckily it worked yesterday. Against the more physical, long ball to a big man style teams this defence will continue to get dominated. Which could be an issue next week.

Actually its not a coincidence that moving Oxolade into the middle has led to two of the best games Arsenal have played this season. Oxo has provided that energy, drive and power in the middle that we have been lacking.
Get in a better player than Flamini into that mix and the defense will look even better. We are possession based team that relies on tempo. Oxo has been key to that.

Dubuchy been class last few games. Hope those clowns pinning for Sagna shut up. If anyone watches City you will know that Sagna is ultra poor these days.

Good article OP. It's not all good somehow. We had a good game and our line-up upfront helped us not to look as predictable as we were in home games when we played against a solid defense. What helped us yesterday and I think Newcastle was suprised by it was our pressing in midfield and upfront. They couldnt deal with it.
The issues we have in defense stay the same. Bellerin for example is a pacey, technical gifted player but defensively he has a lot work to do. We couldnt afford to play him like that next week.
I appeal on Wenger not to buy only one defensive player....we need at least two!
This was a big win for us but what is that worth when we lose against Liverpool? We need to continue winning games from now on.
