We definitely have better players all around the pitch apart from upfront where they had two pacey, inform strikers banging in goals for fun. Suarez has one of the best seasons an individual has had since the pl has started and nearly dragged his team to a win. I think our team is more complete but unfortunately our defence is almost as shoddy as theirs.

I think the Liverpool side of last year would beat the United side of this season.

They really were excellent and blitzed nearly every team they played from January to April. They just ran out of gas in that Chelsea game.

That's not to say that Liverpool team were up there with the best teams in the PL era. Of course not (although that attack may well be). Just that in comparison between them and us now they would IMO be the winners.

Agree, the issues are mostly confidence based.

On paper we're better. But that Liverpool team just clicked in a way we haven't yet.

Of course then first LvG has to figure out what his strongest 11 is, there's a threads worth there for a start?
