Another chance tomorrow to build on some recent positives. Let's hope we don't fack it up again like we have after the QPR and Everton games.
There are a couple of things that make me confident for tomorrow. We have a stable back 4 that is improving. We also have three genuine goalscorers in Eriksen, Chadli and Kane.
Let's hope we come out flying. If we play high tempo football we will be too good for Burnley. If we put in another lethargic home display then it will be incredibly disappointing.
My team would be:
Lloris
Walker Fazio Verts Davies
Bentaleb Dembele
Lennon Chadli Eriksen
Kane
If Lennon isn't fit, Lamela comes in.
Hopefully Dembele has had a kick up the @ rse by being dropped recently and will get back to being the quality player he can be.
Big opportunity tomorrow

Fazio was bad last two games... Vs Newcastle 2-0 up the ball came across and he just stood 7 yards out and let the ball go straight to two Newcastle players was comical!!
Def need a new decent CB in jan

He's still a lot better than that joke Kaboul. I agree I don't think fazio is the man to partner Vertonghen long term as I think he's very erratic but the partnership of him and verts is the best we have available at the moment. The thought of Kaboul coming back into the defence scares me.

I'm still not sure on Fazio.
You only had to watch him against Bony
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not the first CB to struggle with Bony and won't be the last either. Most PL goals this calendar year.

Burnley have improved but we should be beating them with ease at WHL, but this is Spurs so I will not be surprised if we drop points.
Also the game after is Leicester away, and it would be so typical of Charity Hotspur to gift them some xmas points after 13 games without a win.
Anything less than 6 points from the next two games is unacceptable imo, but it would be typical Tottenham to drop some points sadly.

Not sure we can afford CBs to the quality of what some people here expect. No one has really offered a solution.
A few would have said we should sign Lovren at the beginning of the season
For £20m and premier league experience is Lovren out-performing Fazio?

Surely when someone said buy a new better CB is a solution?

It is odd this 'Bony is great' mentality. If anything a highly talented CF shows a CB's weaknesses better than anyone else.
If I played Nadal at tennis, I would inevitably lose because I am absolutely dog sheit. The talent of the opposition would highlight this.

It's all relative though Edin.
Nadal would smash most players outside the top 100.. Bony has shown he can dominate some of the best defenders. Swansea had Montero and Routlege running at us, Siggy pulling the strings..
A settled unit is more important to keeping clean sheets than individual brilliance anyway.. and you can't deny he's useful in the air

We really have to change our attitude towards our own players. I'm all for criticising players that are playing below their level but we don't even know Fazio's level. We should wait to know that before criticising.
============================
I don’t get this comment. We are on a forum – what are we supposed to do, avoid all comments towards our players and managers? As for Fazio’s level, whilst we don’t know his level yet – we have an expected level that he should be at if you are signed and if a player doesn’t appear to be able to achieve that level, then it is perfectly fair to say so. All our players will be judged by fans. We are 28 games into the season (inc cups) so it’s hardly knee jerking either.
I didn’t get to see the full game on Saturday so I cannot properly pass judgment. However, the reports I have reads claim he was poor again and had the turning speed of an articulated HGV. The paper I’m looking at now has given him 5/10.
I have seen the goals and there isn’t much anyone could have done about Burnley’s goal but even in the short highlights I saw on MoTD he was caught attacking thin air and being caught out by the simplest of play. If he is at “this level” for the next 2 games then I’m afraid we could be looking at a couple of thrashings. I hope I’m wrong.
