Well actually its not, its all about the DEFENCE; or more accurately the lack of it! Now I personally think BR is a very good coach and very tactically aware, he switches formation to suit and recently realised that balo and or lambert slows the team down so much we lost our intensity and "thrust"
(Never mind the merits of initially signing lambert and balo, thats an argument for another day); so he switch sterling up front and hey presto the opposition drop deeper we have more room in mf and we can press, press, press....just like last season.

However, the defence! If I'm right even at Swansea their defence wasnt great with BR in charge, and we all know last season it did cost us the title. In fact since BR has been in charge the defensive personal has changed but the frailties remain. Now I was always taught if you identify something in business your not great at, then get someone in who IS great at it;maybe BR needs to realise he needs help here, not matter how good u are sometimes a specialist can make the difference.

Its clear in BR system the reliance is on fast ball playing cbs who can get isolated yet recover. In his system you also need a top gk, much more than is needed in other systems because he has to dominate his area and pass accurately to the wide areas as well as act as sweeper. Currently for me id say only 2 of our 9 defenders are suitable (Flanagan and Moreno for me anyway...and moreno is not yet up to speed, jury's out on manq btw).

Skrtel..Toure..Johnson..Lovren..Enrique..Mignolet..Jones are not suitable for BR system, its not that they are bad players; in fact most are proven and very good but not suited to BR system. Bizarrely 2 players that look like they are perfect for our system are out on loan, Ilori and Wisdom.

To me BR hasn't found the right players for his system in defence, to compound this players at LFC from previous managers are not the right type either. A helping hand as mentioned earlier and finding the right type of defenders is all we need, unfortunately 7 of our current defenders are unsuitable.
