I've seen a few people suddenly developing a desire for us to sign Moutinho, and as i've said a few times on here, i firmly believe if a deal can't be struck for Modric by 5-6pm next Wednesday (think that's deadline day), or he, Luka, decides to join another party who show their hand at the last minute, or Spurs offer him to another party just to spite us. Or he's picked to start for them tonight, etc... We'll activate Moutinho release clause, if the last example happens we may even try opening negotiations with Porto.
So, all things considered who would you rather have??? Moutinho would cost in the region of 35-37M if he's reported release clause is accurate, and any negotiation wouldn't remove too much off that figure as half the income would only go straight to Sporting Lisbon, least i think it's 50%. And only an offer that teases the 40mil barrier will get Spurs talking (though it may be less, depends how far Modric is willing to take a stand of his own).
Modric or Moutinho

If Moutinho release clause is £37m we'd be better off just paying that to Spurs for Modric, a bid of that amount should be more than enough to prise him from Spurs

If a deal can't be struck for Modric by Friday or Saturday we won't get him. Like I've said Spurs have barely been linked with Modric replacements and thy said they don't want to wait till the end of the window to sell. Porto have said no players will leave after this Friday.

I will go for Moutinho anyday anytime.Much younger than Modric and Porto already have replacements for him.

He has only been in qualifiers so far, so he'll still be able to play some part in the CL
