So, into the traditional Boxing day fixture at St Andrew's Birmingham.
Of course all the attention from Derby fans is fixed firmly upon the JA606DCFCPOtY2014 awards which have driven some posters to distraction and diverted away from the real issues facing DCFC.
Namely:- 'clicking'. We all know our players on an individual basis are very good but the sum of this individuality is scarcely superior to our rivals (or summat) and that's why we are stuttering........or have we been spoilt by past superior performances??
Birmingham are enjoying a renaissance under the tutelage of Gary Rowett and have lost only one of their last eight games. Their only defeat since October was 1-0 at Blackpool on 6 December. However they also lost 8 - 0 to Bournemouth two days before my birthday.
Derby could be without Craig Bryson and Jeff Hendrick - a conundrum too far to comprehend - would that mean a start for Paul Coutts?
This post would have been longer and more interesting but a rude interruption on social media means I have to curtail it and present it now
Team News as and when (I shall be en route to St Andrew's)
Birmingham City 0 - 4 Derby County

"Will reserve judgment on Eustace"
Funny, you've never reserved any judgment before, if only. What you actually mean is you're going to wait until Derby lose a game with him in the team and then tell us how it's all his fault. Mascarelle will become a far better player than Eustace, no doubt, but he can't yet anchor the team reliably. Maybe we would of won just as convincingly with him in the team but there is more than a fair chance that Hughes' improved performance and a clean sheet had at least something to do with the return of the warhorse. Ideally he wouldn't of been getting any games at all this season, I'm sure McClaren kept him on purely as emergency back-up only but right now he can do the job for us that's required.

Will reserve judgement on Eustace. Who's to say we wouldn't have won by more if Mascerell had been playing. As a general rule I don't see how you improve a side by playing someone of less ability.
Not less ability just different talents from different players . Horses for courses

Jorvic. Strictly speaking, it is "would have" abbreviated to "would've" but 0-4 will do any day of the week.
