The thank you card

After watching Lukaku's performance yesterday i think we did really well selling him for that amount for now because it might still end up biting us in the back side.
Over the life of the premier league premiership clubs have done deals among each other buy selling and buying players from each other. Some end up being a wonderful signings and another a terrible mistake.
Let say teams are allowed to send each other a thank you card, the likes of Liverpool will be sending us 2 big cards, one for the £50m on torres and the other for Daniel sturridge. So also will Newcastle sending a thank you card to liverpool for Andy Carroll.
At times these signings are not that direct but an indirect impact like a team allowing a player to go because they've sign a replacement and the 3rd team end up benefiting massively from the action of the first team.
Limiting this effect to the last 20 years which thank you card do you think your team should send and receive.

I have to admit,I would like Lukaku at Chelsea,as Drog's will be 37 soon, and Remy ani't getting match fit..............so,if Costa got hurt,we play?

No problem with Torres,Eto or even Ba going, although Ba was a handy bustling sub to put on,but Lukaku has potential, imho.

Hate to disagree with you Mr Chelsea, but Lukaku's goals last season could have edged it for us.
I think him and Jose clashed, and that is it at the Bridge, ala Mata.

Biggish

He does have the first touch of Carlton Palmer, but he can score.Jose could have nutured him?

He would have nurtured him had he wanted to be nurtured but the fact is Lukaku wanted to be playing week in week out and to do that he had to join a lower level team than Chelsea.

That is why he ended up at Everton with little or no competition for places......until ironically Eto showed up

Lukaku is far from the finished product and his hold up play should be much better for a striker of his stature. He does know where the goal is though.

He got 15 league goals for Everton, with due respect to Everton you'd expect him to have netted a few more for Chelsea with the creativity they have/had. Even at 15 league goals that would have made him Chelsea's leading scorer...

It's not as simple as saying he'd have got you goals to win the league, given he out-scored Etoo and Torres combined you'd have thought you would have been closer. Hindsight is 20-20 though.

As for thank you cards, I reckon we'd get the mother of all cards from newcastle. And send it onto Chelsea. The Torres and Carroll deals were a disaster for both clubs.

£28m is a lot of money but he is only 21 years old, people shouldn't be writing him off so early. In the next few years he could very well end up proving to be worth the money. He's had an average season so far but he has acres of time on his side.
