Good news and Bad news!

Chelsea have won the race to sign Andre Kramaric as most people thought they would. Leicester apparently outbid Chelsea but the Rijeka striker has chosen them over us and heads to London for a medical on Jan 5th.

The good news however is, that apparently Chelsea are willing to loan him to Leicester for the rest of the season and discussions are taking place

I personally think that could be a pretty good deal for us, presents little risk of being bundled with an expensive flop and the fact that Chelsea and Juventus also bid for him shows what a good prospect he is.

His style of play is described (on wikipedia!) as follows;

"Kramarić has been described as versatile striker who is mobile enough to run behind defences and rather than waiting for crosses or ball to come to him, tends to run towards the ball, engulfing his opposition with an air of unpredictability about his play. Although naturally a lone striker his versatility makes him able to play well as winger or second striker.[34] His national team coach Niko Kovač compared him with Croatian legendary striker Davor Šuker."

I really hope this comes off for us as it's no risk and potentially a top striker coming to save us from the drop.

One things for sure though - he'll come up against much better goalkeepers in the prem than that video! Even I could score past them!!!

Oh dear. You know you are crap when you're bought and then loaned out again...

Looks like Chelsea have replaced one expensive flop with another.

Genius at work, I understand your board is pretty dull but there must be some subject you'd like to discuss over there rather than troll around the Chelsea board with you smarmy and pointless comments!!

This just makes sense for ALL involved....... No one gets shown the door at Chelsea to make room.We get him on the cheap for the rest of the season.Then his parent close can just watch how he performs in the Prem.If he can score for us, he can score for anyone!!! LOL

Brummie, that is insanity, not a sense of adventure

That did occur to me as I sat on the terrace, on my own, with my head buried in the match program hoping not to get noticed

If he is even half as good as Suker we will get a quality player at Chelsea!

Courtois was loaned straight back out for three years. Boy that 5mil just went down the drain huh?

That sounds like an excellent deal for us if true - If we're still in this league then the summer transfer window should be considerably easier for us to operate in. For Chelsea, it would mean that they're playing the long game with him, wanting him to get some experience of the league before throwing him into their squad next season.

Very happy about this. I thought we might do a Remy style deal where we buy him for say £7 million and put a clause in the contract where if a big club bid x million then we would have to sell him. This is even better I would say
