How many of you out there would take Gerrard now that he is leaving Liverpool?
Could it be a Mcallister signing all over again?
He says he wants a new challenge where he would not have to play against Liverpool - sounds like us all over.
Happy New Year to everyone!!!

Don't get me wrong I think he's a tremendous player and has been for years.
But it doesn't alter my opinion. Gordon Strachan had points to prove and wanted the adulation / success and the buzz. Gerrard doesn't seem to me as committed. I might be wrong, but doubt it.
I think he's already been signed up and it has probably come out at such a strange time because someone else got wind of his intentions and was going to release it. I think his hand was forced.

Completely agree Eric
Strachan, had something to prove after way he'd been treated by fergie
Gerrard wants to move to states, for the lifestyle and the easy games ie pace of game
In championship he'd get kicked to bits

Eric you could well be right - guess we will find out soon enough. Just thought it was an interesting story to come out now and it got me thinking about whether he would be a good fit for us. Enough of the dreaming for now - we've got an FA Cup fixture to look forward to.

Oh and I am now going to have a lay down in a darkened room and listen to Tina Turner warble having logged off and read the comments of LIW.
The darkened room is at the foot of our stairs.

I'm with Eric on this one and that looks like I'm in league with with LIW too.
No thanks.
We need experience but preferably the right side of 30.

I'm going to take heed of a Buffon (that's an Italian goalie by the way!) that calls folk out over researching stuff on Wikipedia, when that same buffoon (Full Definition of Buffoon 1 : a ludicrous figure : clown 2 : a gross and usually ill-educated or stupid person) has himself in the past argued points with folk who witnessed stuff first hand by stating he read about stuff in books...?
