Why all the Stevie G brown-nosing?

Bang average at best. Seriously, another overrated Englishman being lavishly lauded from all corners. Puke-inducing stuff.

Lampard didn't get this treatment and worship when he announced he was leaving, and did and won far more than Gerrard.

scholes didn't get this treatment either i mean it was pretty low key.

It'd known the media are in love with Liverpool but why ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It goes a bit wider than that. The media are in love with the north. Utd, Liverpool and City are treated like gods among men, whereas Arsenal and Chelsea are hurled with abuse left right and centre

And Scholes got plenty of acclaim at the time

Gerrard had a bit of Vieira and Keane about him in his peak the way he lead the team on. One of the last kind left in the game. Players like Suarez Alonso Mascherano and Torres all looked up to him. Even now when he's half as good as he used to be

just imagine looking through your career and nothing to show for it.
==================================
Bit rich coming from a Arsenal fan.
Pick any Arsenal player over the last decade.
All had to move to be successful.

Its not brown nosing. Its fellow players and fans ackownledging the career of a remarkable player. As much as opposition fans hate each other they will never deny the skill and commitment of players like scholes, giggs, lampard, gerrard. Its why we watch football. OP is an idiot

He is not a remarkable player and that is the point the OP is making. He has been a very good midfield player with some memorable moments in his career, but sadly nowhere near enough to deserve to be eulogised and hyped to the level he is.

It is just typical of the media in this country who have a bias towards English players, especially those playing for clubs in the NW.
