According to reports scouts were watching Fletcher in the 1-0 cup win over Leeds yesterday, as Pulis wants a new target man. Aaron Lennon is also being targeted from Spurs!

Quite a few clubs looking at Lennon. Anyone know how much he's on?

Would be a blow to lose Bera, think Fletcher & Bera would be the ideal foil for each other. I think Lennons on about £60k a week.

I think it would need to be a bigger name than Lennon for JP to pay anywhere near that amount.
QPR are interested, that amount seems right up their street.

QPR signing defo
Never liked Lennon but I appreciate the shift he puts in on that right wing.
Fletcher isn't a necessity at all.

I'm with Kanga, don't really see what Fletcher would add to us at all.
Spurs fans on here recently said that Lennon could do a job for us if he was used in a makeweight for Berahino. Surprised he is still only 27. Seems like he has been around for ages.

I think Lennon is a no brainer. Fletcher I accept isn't so though i'd take him. Apparently he was outstanding in the recent Tyne/Wear derby. I'd imagine people will be against him because of his Dingle connections which is daft!

Fletcher is the best header of a ball (that I have seen) since Andy Gray. His footwork for a big man is good and he can finish (though he is very one-footed).
There are problems, mind.
His behaviour off the pitch has brought Sunderland into disrepute at least twice and his injury record is terrible. He tends to break down with nobody around him and disappears from action for months on end.
I tend to think that this is linked to his attitude, that he isn't that disciplined.
That is the last thing you want after Odemwingie and Berahino. Better to go for Danny Ings. Much better would be Charlie Austin - but Harry won't let him go for less than a fortune.

Lennon & Townsend now being touted by the Mirror in exchange for Berahino.

Townsend's started their last 2 league games against Chelsea and Man United so he won't be going anywhere.

This is a complete non-story full of 'coulds', 'if's', 'wants' and 'would like's'.
It also goes on to say that all we have to do now is contact Levi and run the 'idea' past him.
Feckin silly season.
