At this very moment, the BBC is running a live text commentary, complete with key incidents and opinions/texts gathered from Twitter, for Liverpool vs Wimbledon. 27 years after it's conclusion.
F#%king ridiculous.
You don't see this sort of chit being done for other clubs.
Liverpool love in becoming cringe-worthy.

Its the FA Cup.
Last years premier league runners up, multiple time league & European cup winners, squad costing hundreds of millions of £££, a team full of internationals from all over the globe.
Playing against a League 2 side, who only came about through fans love of a team ripped away from them and moved 80miles away, who have risen through the non-leagues in order to enjoy days like today.
Its obviously not the same Wimbledon F.C but they are AFC Wimbledon, and no other football club bears the name of their local town.

No objection to the Wimbledon fans - all 3,000 of them - enjoying their few minutes, it's the hours/days/weeks devoted to Liverpool by the beeb that grates!
There is a simple explanation, which is that all the footie the beeb has the rights to replay - over and over and over again - comes from the pre-Sky days, when Liverpool were surprisingly decent.
But boy is the beeb's nostalgia boring, I've heard so many pundits and presenters talking this weekend about the crazy gang/culture club that you'd think they'd nicked the line from the sermon on the mount.

Yes, but they lost this match missing a pen in the process. I cannot see why this particular match shows a Liverpool love-in. Look at how long the media went on about the Suarez-Evra incident and the t -shirts they wore after. They got reams of bad press for it.

Well, you know what they say, the only thing worse then being talked about is not being talked about.
Look at the Leeds Sunderland tie over the weekend, another match between two big teams, recreating a famous cup final, and barely a mention of it...but as soon as Liverpool Wimbledon came out of the hat you would have put money on it being on tv.
And yes, they lost this match, but it still allows everyone to hark back to the glory days of the club...ie what a huge surprise, the mighty Liverpool, recent kings of Europe etc etc

Wtf ! This article is cringeworthy in it's whining, incorrectly at that, about some sort of love in for liverpool when it is Wimbledons victory they are lauding.
Op, how many tin hats do you own?

...to add, that was seen as a giant killing (albeit both teams being in the same league) with the first penalty miss in the final ever etc..
Magic of the FA cup type reporting.
The OP is a fool.
