What's the story behind Ox's rating?
posted on 11/1/15
Ospina - 7. Had virtually nothing to do.
Debuchy - not really fair to give him a rating since he barely got into the game before being forced off.
Mertesacker - 7. Didn't have much to do but didn't mess anything up either.
Koscielny - 7.5. Solid and impressive as ever, again not much to do but never looked even remotely troubled.
Monreal - 7. Defended fine and got forward well.
Coquelin - 7. Another assured performance, drifted away from Bojan a bit too much at times but it ultimately didn't matter. Will be interesting to see if he starts v City.
Chamberlain - 6. Not quite as with it as the rest of the team, made some excellent runs but also made some sloppy passes.
Rosicky - 8. A real livewire and unlucky not to score, really.
Cazorla - 8. Another quality display, battled well with players twice his size and won his fair share of them, while also creating plenty too.
Sanchez - 9. Made the difference, what more needs to be said? Quality.
Giroud - 6.5. Quiet, but kept the centre-backs occupied and mucked in in defence as well. Overall not too bad.
Bellerin - 7.5. Reassuringly sound at the back and got forward very well down the right flank to trouble Stoke. Again, will be interesting to see if he plays against City.
Walcott - 5.5. Showed he's still kept his pace after so long out, which is a good sign. Finishing was poor but he made all the right runs, and his touch will return in time.
Ozil - 5.5. Basically the same as Walcott, visibly off his game but I suspect that's just a lack of sharpness. Showed his touch is on its way back and got into a good shooting position late on.

Ox wasted chances far too often, makes the wrong decision in the final third time after time
