So it looks like Defoe is a Sunderland player and we play them on the weekend. As long as the deal is tied up by Mid-day tomorrow he will be eligible to play against us.
Defoe as far as I am aware has scored on every debut he has ever had. West Ham, Spurs, Portsmouth, Spurs, Toronto and now possible Sunderland.
If I am honest I wouldn't begrudge him a goal as long as its not an important one that gains them a win or draw.
What kind of reception will Defoe get if he plays? One thing is for sure I am putting some money on at the bookies for him to score at some point in the game.

Sunderland will have to be desperate to sign a player on Thursday/Friday and play him on the Saturday
