Aus/Eng/Ind tri series

come on England PLAY WITH THE BAT.. STOP MISSING STRAIGHT BALLS..
Not sure Bell was out.. But he and Taylor tried to play around straight balls. sure the ball swung. But you don't miss straight balls. what a joke.
Just about somes Bell up though.. looks world class against poor bowlers.
Any unsual angles like left arm seamers or spinners.
England haven't got a clue..

Ps I dunno why am up at this hour..

If pitches are anything like these. Then its just playing in the hands of SL and India. They love these type of pitches.

its an astonishing fact that england have rarely produced batsmen that do well in odis and tests. only trescosthick has more than 10 100s in both forms.

that imo is a very poor record. if you look at other teams most of them adapt very well across formats. maybe there a culture difference. England dont seem to care about other forms other than tests, whereas other teams tend to give their best whatever the format.

anyway what the news on anderson. is he not fit? he had 3-4 months rest, how can he not be fit? Like we saw with broad, they will both need a few more games before they are back to bowling good. broad looked quite rusty atm.

and whats with WI not playing narine? he is picked for WC but they are not even picking him in the odis currently going on? they seem to be scared about whether he will be banned or not.

Will be quite funny if he gets banned in the first game itself come WC.

Viru, with Narine I think WI are not going to risk him getting banned and will unleash him in the WC. The actual rumour is that they will only play him when the knock outs start in the WC. It will take one game to get him banned again so why not wait till the quarter finals.

so im assuming the umpires can still report players for illegal action when the world cup is going on?

Its quite hillarious to see this. rather than them waiting for him to get banned why cant they just work on his action and do some remedial work.

Well anyway if he doesnt get banned in the wc he will deffo be banned in ipl. actually I think he is already banned in ipl.

Just a thought but, England at cricket, football and rugby produce nowhere near the excitement and technique of other top nations.
When England were briefly ranked worlds best at test cricket it was really due to the demise or transition of other sides and one-day performances are stuck in the gillete cup mode of scoring at 4.5 an over and thinking you've done your job. Pathetic really and the rugby promise of attacking expansive stuff has never materialised and less said about footie the better. Why are we boring?

Just put the final on now, Australia v India... England.... Stick to the test matches.

Nah I think that time when england came number 1, they were pretty good. Regardless of what other teams were like. Cook was scoring runs, so was trott, KP and Bell.

Cant take away that from England. But since they came number one, they have gone downhill and that was reflected by the form of their batsmen over a long period of time.

And anyway most teams are only able to do well at home. So cant blame england for poor results. Australia lost in UAE, and I have no doubt that if they came to India they would lose again. Im quite interested to see how they do in the ashes.

SA are coming down to India this year for 4 tests, lets see how they do in rankturner

Bar SA i dont think any team have done consistently well outside home conditions.

Infact from what I have seen, NZ is probably the only other team that have done well at home and away for the last 1 and half years.

So, I don't think its a clear case of aussies india and Saffers or whoever. There's almost always a surprise team. I expect england to perform well.
