we play City.
The next two games are massive.........
Our away form is not good enough to win the title at the moment so we simply have to change that with a win tomorrow at Swansea.
Not only will it get our away from back on track, but it will also guarantee at least a 2 point lead over City before we play them.
But we must beat City too because I honestly think we need a minimum 5 points lead after that game to have a chance of becoming champions.
Anything less and I think City will pip us to the title.
Minimum 5 point lead required after

One of my concerns apart from not integrating Remy as well as we could have so far is why haven't we replaced Salah this window ??
Clearly Salah has no future in this Chelsea team and he is wanted by a host of clubs. So let's sell him and replace him with another AM that we actually will use and who can improve our squad options.
City will only be stronger now with the addition of Bony as well as Aguero coming back and yet we're doing nothing to strengthen this window despite lacking firepower in the squad.
It's advantage City as far as I can see and that's not being negative, it's just being realistic and analytical.

Because you stated on this thread that you are basing your belief on Chelsea winning the league by doing better than City agst tough opposition at home and on City doing worse than Chelsea agst tough opposition away from home.
Therefore if Chelsea lost at home to City it would be a double whammy effect on your basis for Chelsea winning the league.....they don't call these games 6 pointers for nothing.

If I take your argument and throw it back then I would say you are being just really positive to me assuming no injuries, assuming City will not keep up their away form and assuming we will not struggle at home agst harder opposition...

I think it's fair to hope that we'll do well at home. We did well at home last season and we've done brilliantly this season.
City's away form is good because they have a lot of tough away games left. They lost to us and Liverpool away last season, drew at Arsenal, and struggled a bit early on. This season they've dropped points at Everton and QPR who are inferior to Man Utd and Tottenham, for example, who they still have to play away.
As for injuries, I'm just saying there's no reason to assume the best or worst. Anything could happen.

I agree, but if we win today and beat City at home the 5 point advantage might be enough to offset that advantage, which is why i wrote the article.
But who knows, maybe Arsenal will finally show up agst a top team

I'm sorry, our home form isn't going to shat if we lose one home game and City aren't going to win at Old Trafford, White Hart Lane, Anfield etc. if they win at Stamford Bridge. It's just one game. As long as the gap stays the same this weekend, we'll be one point behind them.

I said a defeat at home to city would seriously weaken your basis for believing Chelsea would win the league, I did not say it would destroy it.
If you think losing a 6 pointer at home to City will not seriously damage Chelsea chances of winning the title then that is surprising...

We'll be One point behind City.
We'll have easier away games and so a good chance to overtake them again.
Yeah, it will damage our hopes, but it will still be about 50 50 between us and City. City won't be overwhelming favourites like you seem to think.
On the contrary, if we win we WILL be overwhelming favourites.

Why is it us losing 'Seriously damages' our hopes, but us winning only 'gives us a chance'?

how many times do I have to repeat the fact that this is my analysis and that it maybe incorrect...........you think it is and that is absolutely fine.........i happen to disagree with you and that is absolutely fine too

Whatever way you want to look at points gained in upcoming matches the fact is that we're going to have to up our game if we're going to win the title.
The last time we won the title in 2010 we seriously upped our game in the second half of the season and we're going to need to do that again.
If not City are just going to power their way to the title without even needing to be that impressive. Just like they did last season.
