Yep, that time again where we take a trip down Memory Lane and take a look at those players who've played for Leeds United and our opponents. In this edition of "They played for both sides......." we profile one of football's great showmen.
A real character this player was known for his showmanship on the pitch and his colourful life off it! Now retired he amassed over 750 league appearances scoring just under 250 goals for a staggering 11 clubs in a career that spanned 26 years.
He started his career in his home county playing for Huddersfield Town and ended it in 1992 playing for his home town club, Halifax Town. He joined Birmingham City in 1979 and then, after a couple of loan stints abroad, joined the not-so-famous Leeds United in 1982 in a move that saw Welsh international Byron Stevenson move in the opposite direction.
He only made 32 league appearances in the famous White shirt scoring 14 goals. 3 further cup outings heralded one further goal. Flamboyant, eccentric but truly one of football's most skilful strikers.
He left Leeds United that same year signing for Sunderland. He also represented England 8 times scoring twice.
His name?
Frank Worthington.
For Leeds United fans.........,
1) your favourite Frank Worthington goal?
2) who else played for both Leeds United & Birmingham City
3) your favourite Leeds v Birmingham memory
4) which current Blues' player would you want in a Leeds United shirt?
For our friends from the Midlands.......,
1) Carson Yeung or Massimo Cellino ?
2) what's your Frank Worthington highlight?
3) Championship stability or outside chance of a play-off place?
"They played for both sides........" is the official unofficial warm up to the Matchday Thread and is bought to you in association with www.didyouknowmyexschoolcolleagueisdirectorofbluesandactuallysupportsleedsunited.com

Frank was a great player, he was at our ground a couple of months ago ,and at half time he came on the pitch and spoke to the crowd ,he went on and on ,it seemed like forever ,at the end we all knew that dear old Frank was a little bit over the limit ,but we still love him .kro.

Brilliant. Different era. How many players back
then went on the pitch with a skinful? A few I'd
bet. Living the life and then some.
