Has done really well since coming back into the team and back to his best. We've not lost a game he's started (I think). Do some people still want him out?

The thing with Lucas is that Rodgers was hardly using him at all. If you are not going to use a player then sell and bring in someone who you will. Thats how I saw the situation anyway.

Lucas could be replaced with better but it would cost a pretty penny.
His distribution is average, his shooting is laughable and his dribbling is non existent but these are luxuries in the position he plays and there are more important positions that we need to spend on first.
______
His distribution is not that good but non of our other current midfielders distribution is brilliant. He doesn't get forward alot to try his shooting. He did once yesterday and almost scored an excellent goal from outside the box but for the excellent goalkeeper save. Alonso dribbling was probably bad. Henderson shooting is poor.

Let's be honest, his excellent attempt at goal was a one off, usually when tries from that sort of range it ends up in row z.
Also I think you're being pretty harsh on some of our other midfielders who do have a good range of passing ability.

We need someone more mobile...as soon as the tempo picked up against Villa he went missing.

I think it is generally the folk that wanted Lucas out from the off that still want him out now. Things like 'he doesnt offer enough going forward' or 'score enough goals' are just covers to prevent from admitting that actually Lucas is a very good player.
And yes he could add the odd goal to his game. But I'd say the same of Coutinho, Henderson, Markovic and ever single midfielder bar possibly Gerrard (and even then the vast majority of his goals are set pieces these days). Lucas as the defensive midfielder is in there primarily to break up attacks, retain possesion cover other players breaking forward and protect the defence. Which he does as well as anyone around. His passing is excellent and progressive (despite how some people try to spin it).
Its taken him a good while to properly get over his injuries and yes towards the end of last season we were not playing a formation that required him as much. This season he has consistently been on of the most effective players on the field and its no coincidence that our best performances this season have been with him in the side.
