So Garth yet again makes some remarkable selections for his team of the week and its easy to see why he isnt allowed anywhere near club management. I dont know if he teleported in from a different dimension where United and Spurs both won convincingly but last time I checked they both just about managed to edge out very poor sides with United yet again being outplayed for large parts.
Falcao. Yes he wasnt a passenger like he has been in some games but he missed a boatload of chances in a weekend when goals were not in short supply at all from strikers. Despite being teed up and fluffing a number of one on ones he managers to push out other players that scored such as Gayle, Giroud, Bojan and Elia.
In his haste to shoehorn as many Spurs and United players into the side he seems to have forgotten that both Palace and Southampton produced excellent performances in winning away in (on paper) much more evenly matched fixtures whilst West Ham recorded the second biggest winning margin of the weekend and are not even worth a mention.

This is my favourite ever Crooks comment:
FORWARD - WAYNE ROONEY (Man Utd)
I was speaking to my uncle Ben on Saturday and said that Aaron Ramsey was almost certain to be the unanimous choice for footballer of the year. He took the glass of champagne out of my hand and said: 'You mean Wayne Rooney, don't you?' I told him that he had made a very good point and promptly went home.

Not the Uncle Ben that does the rice is it?
Maybe he's imagining Uncle Ben on the rice packet is talking to him. I mean his football choices already make you think he's suffering from dementia.

Didn't he once campaign for West Brom's James Morrison to be in the England squad, saying if he played for a Top 4 team he would have been picked.
This was despite the fact that Morrison had already 25 caps for Scotland

Oh got it, his views on goalline technology, on two seperate occasions:
1. After West Brom are awarded an equaliser against Fulham by goal-line technology.
"Maarten Stekelenburg should really have held on to that shot from Matej Vydra. He'd played well before that as well. To be honest. I'm not a fan of goal-line technology. We never used to have it and I think the game was fine without it. Football shouldn't be all about science!"
2. During Fulham - Newcastle
" It couldn't have gone over the line, otherwise the referee would have got a bleep in his ear. But i'm against technology- the decision of the referee's and his decision should be final. Forget what you want to see, we've gone with the technology all you technophiles wanted and we've got to abide by it"

He obviously has no grasp on technology and just writes his team in scribbles on the back of the paper, and some poor BC intern has to decipher it and make it legible on the website.
