They played for both sides.......

Morning all, time for another instalment of "They played for both sides......" where we profile a footballer who has played for both Leeds United and Bournemouth.

Today's focus is a player who saw exciting times at ER before the bubble well and truly burst. Born in 1977 he joined Leeds United from Home Farm on youth terms going on to win the Youth Cup in the '96/'97 season.

A more than competent left back he was known for his dead ball accuracy scoring on numerous times from penalties and free kicks.

A regular member of O'Leary's young musketeers this Republic of Ireland international went on to make almost 290 appearances in the famous white shirt before finally leaving the club in 2004 heading overseas to Levante.

At the grand old age of 37 he's still plying his trade at Bournemouth. His career has led to over 540 first team appearances for seven different clubs scoring 85 goals thus far. He's also represented his country 63 times.

His name? Ian Harte.

For fans of the Mighty Whites.......,

1) what's your favourite Ian Harte memory?
2) which other players have played for both clubs?
3) which Bournemouth player would you sign?

For the Cherries.....,

1) which current Leeds United player would you sign?
2) will you really get promoted? Bournemouth in the Premier League?
3) when is Boscombe coming back?

"They played for both sides......" Is bought to in association with www.cellinoaintbadhesjustbaaaaaaaad.com and is the official unofficial warm up to the unusually premature Matchday Thread.

Enjoy.

Care to explain LIW, just go back under your rock. I like these articles but cmon, how many Leeds players have ever played for Bournemouth other than Harte? These were nearly extinct at one stage and were struggling in League 2 just 6!!! Years ago

1. Everytime he took a free kick. I used to get upset as a lad in my junior team as I was first choice left back but I wanted to have fun and score goals, dad used to say, Ian Harte plays left back, and I thought, yh your right.

2. Probably some reserve player we had back in stone age

3. Pittman, his name appears on the soccer Saturday vidi-printer more times than our lot do

Used to see Ian Harte out all the time back in my college days when I worked as a barman, used to come into the bar with 2/3 stunning birds at a time. Top bloke too.

His free kick taking ability was top class, seem to remember him getting into double figures one season.
