Equalizer was down to many players

Got to say we missed a good opportunity to bring a 1-0 results back home last night.
I have seen comments on Cahill being at fault etc, but in my opinion it was combination of other players.
Matic and Mikel left the middle wide open, Cahill kept backing away, which to be honest we have seen a few times now, Mourinho needs to work him on that.
If he had moved towards Sterling, even if he did not put a tackle in, it may have just held Sterling up long enough so someone else could get in.
I thought Mikel started off well but again towards the middle to last part of game, he's concentration seemed to go, I think we have all seen this before.
Don't want to dwell too much on Mikel, but really feel it might be an idea to bring Ramirez in.
Just one other point, and again it's just my opinion, I thought Ivanovic was a bit shaky again and thats not the first time this season.
I just wonder if it's time we played Dave at right back, he's natural position, and I feel Luis has more than earned he's position at left back, I think he has been really good .
Anyway it's just half time in this semi, think you will see a completely different type of game in the return from both sides

Remember they score from individual brilliance because without that I think we would have won 1-0 but different game plan next Tuesday

Dtm , they did hit bar / post and did have all the chances on goal.

Yes next week we will go out with a different game plan.

Without doubt I think we may see a different type of game.
I can see both teams trying to keep it very tight for the 1st 20 minutes or even more, even with us having the away goal.
Obviously if a goal is scored and the timing of it, could really change the whole complexion, depending on who scores it. I have seen a few mention maybe bringing Oscar back in but being honest I do not think this will be he's type of game, I think may be better to bring him on a little later depending on other things of course.
But I do feel we should bring ramirez in the middle to give us that bit more impetus and energy, I would definately play Willian again, he,s work rate will be needed.

Agreed about WIllain, he was very important last night.

I don't get the criticism of Cahill either. Yes he backed up, and pushed Sterling wider which was how it should be. Had he jumped in and missed the tackle he'd stil be getting the blame. Some players can't win whatever they do with some fans.
There are times when the opposition player just does better. It doesn't mean that anyone did anything wrong.

(It's always the same boring posters after every game too that pick fault and look for a scapegoat. We all know who they are.)

Ifarka thats the reason I was saying to bring ramirez in as well, even more energfy and work ethic then if things are going ok maybe then bring Oscar on a little later to bring that little bit of probing technique in to the game.
Or even Schurrle to try and split them with width.

Say my name, totally agreed, , "there are times when the opposition player does better "

Last night Liverpool played extremely well , we contained them, if we had totally capitulated then there would be reason the 8 itch

I agree with the Ivanovic point. I do think it's time to give Dave a run at right back ana Luis on the left

Maybe Ivanovic needs a rest

why is it that anytime Matic didn't do well it is attributed to Mikel not helping which makes Matic doing a two mans job, but when Mikel doesn't shine like a million stars he's a bad player.

Matic losing the ball in midfield has nothing to do with Mikel. They both complement themselves. Matic was there when Sterling run through to goal yet all I hear is that Mikel Matic left their position instead of blaming the main culprit Matic.

Since we feel Mikel is that bad then Jose is even worse for picking him in big games. Jose simply not good enough.

I also feel Oscar would have done better than Fabragas in the number 10 position in pressing higher the pitch and tracking back

really? I don't think he's done enough to stamp his position at LB, TBH I've been quite disappointed by him, and surprised too. This guy was best LB in Europe last season, he looks a bit lost whenever he plays for us.
