Fair points guys. I was under the impression chelsea fielded a strong side. Was intending to take the pi#$. I just felt chelsea would be more concerned about the league and if city ended up playing less games being out of the cup it might of been seen as slight advantage to city... plus i like being paranoid lol

I know your result isn't as bad as ours but you are in no position to make articles about us

Why not? Just because City lost today, does that mean that Chelsea's result isn't as bad? Just because City lost today, does that mean any City fan's criticism of Chelsea's result is any less valid?
Of course it doesn't. If that was the case, then Chelsea fans have no right to criticise anyone who has lost an FA cup tie since Chelsea last won the FA cup.
Chelsea do deserve criticism today. As do City. As do United last night. It's irrelevant where that criticism comes from. An individual's opinion doesn't become invalid just because of their affiliation to one team. Anyone who thinks so is an idiot.

The last thing I want to sound like is a cnunt, but ultimately would the extra games have been any benefit to us?
FA Cup was probably our best chance of silverware this season, especially given the other clubs that have exited today, but equally it was also the least prestigious piece of silverware we could have won at this point in the season.
Last year the extra carling cup games nearly left us in the dust in terms of the league title race, I'm not overly fussed by today in all honest, at the risk of sounding like an absolute twaat, we have bigger fish to fry.

If i can take one positive from today Silva, Kompany and Aguero all got another 90 mins match fitness which could be vital for the Chelsea game.

I do agree Ripley, I'd never want us to sacrifice any competition for the sake of another - having been deprived of success for so long I want us to win any and every competition we play in.
I'm still not fully convinced the extra games would have been of benefit for us though, and for that reason I'm not as bothered as I was by the Stoke home game for example. Inexcusable to lose at home like that as you say though, yesterday coupled with the manner of the Arsenal defeat really need to serve as a wake up call for Pellegrini.
