world. They were never ever going to keep continuing in three cup competitions for too long. Spurs can now field full-strength against Sheffield United, and that will be another competition put to bed one way or the other until March. Poch can then just concentrate on picking his best XI in the prem until the Europa starts again. Obvious the squad players are not good enough, they have all been given lots of game time, and the results are nearly always the same. A combination of Mason and Bentaleb in the middle of the park should push the energy levels back up again.

It could be the end of our world at the end of February (looking at our fixtures), we could be out of all the cups and slipped further away from the top four

I agree 3 competitions is too much.
Apparently Pochettino wanted to win this one, so fate has saved him from himself. He can focus the team on the League and on the Euro Pot competition.
And give Kane a rest now and then.

I think Poch has to go back to fielding full strength teams now. The FA Cup is gone, the League Cup is all but finished, so Poch can just concentrate on the prem for a bit.

Poch can play full strength for those games as well, it will be the only midweek cup competition left for Spurs now, so should not be a problem. The CL sides will have to play full-strength, so cannot see why Spurs cannot. Probably a blessing in disguise getting knocked out of one cup competition. And the only other cup competition could be a final.
Sheffield United this Wednesday was always going to take preference over today, expect, other than Bentaleb, to be full strength for that game.

I hope Poch focuses on
1. The league and getting 4th spot,
2. the Euro cup
and then maybe testing new ideas in the league cup.
BTW, the league cup is an anachronism from the first half of the last century. Premiership teams should be allowed to withdraw from that competition if they so choose. It serves to overload the match schedule and drag good teams into the English winter mud.
