LAO (Laugh at ourselves)

Ah well.. we were owed one I guess..

Do you guys still think we don't need to sign players this January?

January window will ALWAYS be our curse.

Edin

I read that it was not until 2016 so I hope you are right and I hope to death we take a bit more care with our signings from now on

I just googled it and some website told me 2015, but it didn't seem the most reliable of websites.

Its definitely not as easy as we wish it was

Agreed, though we're talking about the worst cases here really, players like Soldado could be sold albeit at a loss.. it's just my opinion we need to be more pragmatic in the market.

Anyway, there's no dispute if they're sacked, it sends a signal out that we're not a soft touch.. if a player doesn't like it we're better off without anyway, and shouldn't have to do it in the future.

We need to sell to buy. We have players we don't use, or simply aren't good enough, but could be for plenty of other clubs. We could blatantly sell a few if we wanted - Naughton was pretty average with no international pedigree and poor form and we got 5m..

I think we all hope it ends in the summer

I'm not sure if your being deliberately objectionable?

We need to sell to buy. You said it yourself.

I conceded it's not easy, and some players are just caants that'd rather a few quid than a decent career, but you're looking for problems all the time rather than solutions. And there are solutions, there's always a way if you're smart about it.

Take the best offer from Spain and thank Bobby very much for his hard work, get a winger signed and open the market for Lennon. PL clubs all be lining up at the right price. We've sold plenty to Hull and QPR recently

I'm done for the night, laters chaps

Nope I am just highlighting the difficulties. Common sense tells me that Adebayor is the one we really want rid of and I think he is going to prove virtually impossible to move on.

I think we will get ok money for Soldado but I suspect that the ideal would be for Ade to go and us get somebody like ings or an equivalent.

Unfortunately I also suspect that Ade has no intention of going anywhere so thats the problem we face. We have already seen the likes of BAE refuse moves and refuse loan periods proving virtually impossible to get rid of him.

I honestly think we will sign an ings type forward this window regardless of us getting rid of somebody provided his wage demands are not to much.

By ings type I mean a reasonable standard but not a marquee signing

To be fair the problem is not scoring enough goals. Ade is part of that, sure, but with Poch bringing him back into the side he could still prove useful.. obviously we all know he'd be a nightmare to sell.

Benny, well I guess he's not even got a squad place.. it's annoying he's still earning a living off us but hopefully he's a one off!

An Ings-type signing is all I want! Young, keen to impress, with goals in him. If we're still having to sell to buy Soldado could raise the funds.. yeah it'd be harsh considering his attitude but we're not here to be nice.

Now Benny I could understand it being an order from up high - that's three coaches he has not featured for now.

The only thing that makes immediate sense is the Quenelle malarkey. Anelka never played over here again did he?
