£26m for a 28 year old striker who cannot score.
Who is responsible?
AVB (appointed by Levy)
Baldini (appointed by Levy)
Levy (is Levy)
No doubt we will have some mugs turning up to talk about his 'good touches' and 'awareness'
Just to repeat, £26m for a 28 year old.
ffs
Soldado

Expensive player being criticised by a 2 bob poster
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It just hurts more because we sold our last decent all-round striker to Man Utd.
The other annoying issue is that Levy's constant rotation of managers has meant that even when we spend big (in relative terms). It's never the players the new manager wants.
Our managers are always creating squads from another managers transfers. THIS HAS TO STOP!!
So as fans we just constantly watch new managers ponderous tactics with players they don't really want but for sake of club harmony they have to continually go into the press and say theses players are decent quality.
Its all on big circus which I hope has come to its final act an epoch will be given two or three transfer windows to make this his squad.

Spot on,I've said from the off poch needs time and to bring in the players he wants and to get rid of the players he doesn't .
We've won games late on when away from home on more than a couple of occasions that may be down to luck and better fitness.
I'm happy enough with how the season is going and I'm pleased poch is playing some of our younger players.
Would be nice to see soldado come good as he is a good player but it just ain't happening
Keep the faith

I think Soldado is a very good footballer but definitely unsuited to the style we have played the last 2 years having said that lets remember our last two goals have come from penalties both won by Soldado so he is not exactly a waste of space.
The problems at Spurs run a lot deeper and there are many reasons for this.
Firstly Levy, yes he has made a lot of money available to our managers whilst juggling the funds to keep the new stadium situation ticking over. His biggest weakness is his managerial appointments. I dont know just how many managers he has appointed but only 2 have been anywhere near what we would consider reasonable.
BMJ who actually got the job by default when Santini left so I dont credit Levy for that and the other was Harry every other appointment he has made has failed which is why he keeps damned well sacking them.
His other big problem is persisting with this stupid DOF system which leads us to believe that managers have little or no say in what players we buy, I dont actually believe that to be honest.
The next problem is the players, their attitudes and their will to win. Hardly surprising when you see the likes of Adebayor bought back in as captain after taking the pi$$ out of the club for two years. Having mentioned that to be fair the players attitude half the time was crap BEFORE that happened.
The next hige problem is our transfer policy which regularly sees us throw money away on extremely poor or average players. I mean seriously who the hell decided to buy Chiriches?
Next the fans need to take a good look at themselves and their expectations. Unfortunately a lot seem to think we are city or chelsea and decide that the FA Cup and League cup are just games to be played and its not that much of a worry we go out of those competitions. Those two competitions are actually our best chances of success and IMO should be our biggest priorities.
We are not good enough to win the prem and to be honest we are not really good enough to finish in the top 4 either. We are not good enough to win the europa so why we would field weakened teams in the two competitions we are capable of winning god only knows. Support by all means but be realistic about it and our teams capabilities.
Lastly we have to look at our managers and IMO he have not had a capable one since we sacked Harry. At the time I thought Harry talked his way out of a job and do not blame Levy for sacking him, so I am not a "we should never have sacked harry" poster.
Appointing AVB was simply a disaster IMO and despite one season getting a record points total in the prem the entertainment value was slightly above zero and one player got us most of those points that season.
We then moved on to the "wonderful" I have never managed a team in my life Sherwood which at least was not quite as boring and now we have Poch.
I actually believed during the summer that Poch was a very good fit for us and genuinely thought we would improve as the season went on. I did not expect top 4 in his first season nor did I expect us to win anything but I did expect progression.
Unfortunately 37 games into his reign I think we are no better than we were at the beginning of the season and cant see much sign of that changing.
Yes we are within reach of a cup final but then to be fair the draw really has favoured us and yet its still in the balance against a side two divisions below us and we have just got ourselves knocked out of the other competition we stood a serious chance of winning.
Yes managers need time of course they do but that excuse only goes so far. They need time to mount a serious challenge to the big clubs but that does not mean that they should lose games to teams that have lesser players than we do. (Leicester, WBA, Stoke, Palace for example) Ok those things do happen but to us its far to regular. After 37 games in charge we are still on edge when we entertain the likes of Leicester at home and IMO thats nowhere near good enough.
I am sick to death of seeing 5, 6 ,7 or 9 team changes before games and really do fail to see why. I am also tired of watching the turgid football and lack of goals that we have seen for the majority of this season and really cannot see much in the way of progress.
Sheffield Utd dead on their feet in the last few minutes at Wednesday and with a slender 1-0 lead we play 11 passes across our back 4 and go nowhere rather than try to kill them off. That IMO is unacceptable.
No I dont want Poch sacked but I also know he is nowhere near the answer. We have been brainwashed by the influence of foreign coaches and the media into believing that possession is the answer to everything even tho that possession amounts to sweet FA 99% of the time.
Having the ball 70% of the time is pretty pointless if that possession amounts to FA and that about sums us up at the moment.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to WHL all you get is AVB 2

Judging from what the Valencia fan said Soldado has been overrated in England, had a purple patch most seasons that covered up the fact he wasn't generally prolific. Worth a punt then but never the top end of the reported fee.
I'll judge Poch at the end of next season. He's come under criticism for not knowing his best XI (senior players kept letting him down) and not changing things enough (a common criticism of any manager, hampered by the point above) but it all needs time.
At the very least he's got the whole team properly fit, Pearson described us as a team of athletes.. I don't think I've ever heard that about a Spurs team

Hope Chronic has seen that
Yea, he's not a top manager. All we can do is hope he improves. Remember that he is still youngish in managerial terms.

Regardless of his age some of the mistakes he makes 16 year old would not make. He gets paid to manager a top club and so far he is not that good at it.

We are stuck with him. Be optimisitic or give up imo

I dont want him sacked tbh I am just disappointed that IMO he is nowhere near as good as I thought he would be
