Tonights team

Courtois
Azpi Zouma Terry Luis
Matic Fabregas
Willian Oscar Hazard
Costa

Interesting to see Zouma given the nod ahead of Cahill - not aware of any knocks he has. Mikel and Schurlle both have niggling injuries, Salah looking more and more likely to be on his way?

Heard a few Shirley rumors this morning, ok was talk shìte but what do we think 27 million to wolfsberg and a 'niggly injury' tonight........has this story got legs? Do we sell without back up, have we got enough back up?

Also Zouma i think for a bit of pace, this looks like an all attack to me so jose worried about counters

If we sell Schurrle we will have Douglas/Cuadrado coming in, We'll be fine.

Buys like Douglas/Cuadrado/Salah are the reason we don't really bring youth through. We replace average squad players with other average squad players. Neither of those two players are actually good enough for our first team if we want to be competing with the big boys (Barca, Bayern Madrid etc) but we buy them anyways.

Our transfer policy should be to only buy players who will really improve our 1st XI or at least provide a real competition for places. Therefore leaving our youth players like Thorgan/Piazon etc. to take the squad roles.

Jose would be able to rotate confidently, we'll save money and we'll be finally bringing through that fabled "yoof". It's a win-win but as long as we keep on buying average players like Douglas and Cuadrado that's never going to happen.

Cuadrado seems pretty good. I'd be happy with him in the first team.

Looks like Shirley and Salah are going with cuadrado and Costa coming in.

He's like a more erratic (although slightly more productive) version of Willian.

He's not afraid to take on a player but he also loses the ball way too frequently. He's a good enough squad player but not really at the level of a first team player if we have serious designs on being a force in Europe.

I agree totally as will most but then they'll also be saying we should have kept Frank.

The problem is that if you try to bring in really good players they would demand a starting place or need to be played regularly. People like costa will be happy to sit in the bench and do a decent job when required.
