I've had just enough of this 'gritty English centre-half' BS.

Its clear as day that Koscielny is twice the player Cahill is, and ten times the player Chris Samba is.

Just because Johnny Journalist or some xenophobic, lazy pundit on sky sports orders Arsene to buy one of these names he's plucked from a hat without ever watching, it suddenly becomes Arsene's duty to buy this prat for 20 million.

I'm not surprised Wenger bid 6 million for a player in the final year of his contract. He's only good enough for backup anyway, and backup is all we need. This 'English premium' has become widely accepted as a reward to gritty Englishman for being top blokes from deprived areas who will above all GET STUCK IN.

Cahill, Jagielka, Samba: they're just names bandied about. None of them are better than Vermaelen or Koscielny who btw have formed an excellent partnership. Neither are they worth the transfer fee to be backup.

England is not the only place to buy centre-backs. In fact England's continued reliance on the injury-prone Ferdinand and past-it Terry at national level is testament to the fact no-one is better. "Not even Gary 'Shield-Shatterer' Cahill you ask? No not even him.

I'm angry that Wenger hasn't bought a centre-back as backup but, goddammit, if its going to cost 20 million, for the love of god look elsewhere Arsene.

Rant over. Breathe young Grey_Cells.
