It's over

I can now say my interest in Scottish football is over for this season. Let's face it, Europe is the only thing that's worth following anymore - it's one of the old firm that win every SPL, and I can't remember when I was last either ecstatic or despondent with the result. What is there to look forward to? 4 to 6 Old Firm games? - Only the narrow minded bigots really care overly about the result of that! A Scottish cup final against Queen of the South or Falkirk? A ridiculous CIS cup win? I must say only Europe ever gets me really excited anymore, and I will admit I will probably end up watching the EPL or, more likely La Liga, than any of the dross Scottish football will throw up.

As a final note, surely tonight is a good night to put an end to all this embarrassing WUMMERY going on between the OF; we are both equally an embarrassment to Scottish football, so let's just be friends!

Its a shame, even going back a few years Celtic and Rangers were pretty decent sides who could have mixed it up in the Premiership, of course that would have left the rest of the Scottish league to drop down hill... but also made it more exciting as realistically quite a few teams could win it...

Would it be worth the old firm trying to fight their way up the divisions in England (assuming they start at non league level) or can the Scottish game be dragged back up to better standards ?

The only things I can see bringing it back are a series of great managers who manage to bring several good young players in each on the cheap, or a hugely talented generation of young Scottish players too come through.... (or a mix)

I think the old firm getting out of Scotland would be an answer to all the teams problems. More interest for the OF and a more competitive league for the rest.

but i dont think they are wanted or needed by the Premier League.

Would you want us? One of us actively supports and signs terrorist songs, the other sends bombs to opposing managers!

I would have always liked it, needless to say they would both need to tone it down a little, but having decent rivals other than each other would probably help in that department...

Unfortunately I think I am one of the few that would like them here, I think a mix of petty nationalism and the intense hatred you have of each other (the Old Firm that is) has put everyone else off..

It would probably work out well for the other Scottish clubs, more euro places to fight for, even if they would shrink with the coefficients going down hill theres 2 gone at the start of every season

i think after Rangers fans trashed Manchester, any chance of them being allowed to play south of the border disappeared.

That probably didn't help, but it had been discussed for a while before that and the noises were never very positive (from the Premier League side of things) I guess that was the final nail in the coffin...

At least the last one was a self inflicted wound I guess...

Quite ironic as this is hugely narrow minded, so every OF fan is a bigot?

Ecosse,

I'll put some of your comments down to the after effect of that result last night.

Regardless of our standard just now - I care about every game the Gers play.

We will be back - we might just need to tough it out for a while....
