I never thought I'd see the day but I feel like I have to admit that Wenger was right not to re-sign Cesc Fabregas.
Don't get me wrong, he is a world class footballer, and it annoys me seeing him do so well for Chelsea, but Wenger was right not to take him back.
And the reason he is right is because we have Santi facking Cazorla. I think after an underwhelming 2014, lots of people, myself included, have forgotten how good Santi Cazorla is. Now I wasn't one of those clowns who wanted him sold in the Summer, but I thought this season he would pretty much become our next Rosicky, a bit part player filling in for injured players, playing in cup matches, making cameos off the bench, etc.
But the truth is, despite Alexis getting all the headlines, and rightfully so, Cazorla is really the heartbeat of this team. He is what makes us tick. Our turnaround in form has massively been down to his new found form since his dreadful cameo appearance vs United when I actually thought he was finished as a top footballer.
As long as he keeps up this level of performance, we will never have to think of Cesc again. 6 goals and 5 assists in his last 11 games in the PL, In his previous 11 PL games he had 0 goals and 1 assist. Right now he is as good as anybody in the PL, long may it continue.
Wenger was right

Better than Ramsey? On the right wing? Doubt it

He wouldn't have played right wing though. Fabregas wouldn't be the first Arsenal player who looks a different player in a different team. There's no shred of doubt in my mind he would have been immense for us, irrespective of how good or bad his form elsewhere is.

Cesc won Chelsea the title last season irrespective of whether he has it now or not. I am in no doubt that Chelsea would not have won the title if they hadn't had the good start when ppl actually thought they could go unbeaten. That was all down to Cesc.
Also keep in mind the reason Wenger gave for not re-signing Cesc was that we had Ozil not that he had lost his legs. (the reason Barca gave for selling him)

Cesc is a strange case tbh. Technically, he is head and shoulders above Rakitic but the later suits Barca better.
The same could be said for us. He is head and shoulder above Ramsey (although not the same position) but the later "should" suits us better.
Also, I have not doubt if we still had RVP (or any striker capable of making run behind the defence) then Wenger would have probably be tempted by Cesc.
But a Cesc - Giroud combination wouldn't work.

Cesc got that utter donkey Adebayor to 30 goals.

In terms of technical ability Ade >>>>>>>>>> Giroud
The issue with Ade has never been his technic but more his ethic. Him scoring 30 was far before he turned into a lazy mess. I doubt Cesc could make him score half of that right now.

No way
Ade is so average from a technical ability side. Just flourished with that midfield behind him. Giroud is twice the footballer Adebayor is, just doesn't have the same physical attributes

Chris on the wum before coffee time
Giroud has been playing alongside Cazorla and Ozil for two season now and never ever came close of scoring that amount of goals.
And for one of the season, not only he played almost every games but he was our only striker.

Ozil has been mainly average, and Cazorla is not really a creator.

Adebayor was more mobile and could cover ground a lot quicker than Giroud.
