I still think we will...just
We have more quality than the previous 2 years and I think there are at least 5 teams worse than us (on paper at least) - QPR, Hull, WBA, Leicester and Burnley.
But the situation is dire and we simply can't go on like this. Also, Lambert's not going anywhere so we have to accept it.
He needs an assistant, but doesn't have one. Why? Could we get Sherwood as an assistant?
After the lift of Delph signing a new contract, Gil looking a good signing and us scoring 2 goals in the last match, you'd think the team would have put up more of a fight today. They didn't. And this is worrying
Lambert MUST change things. 4-3-3 needs to be changed as it is not working. It looked like Arsenal had 3 or 4 more players than us at times today.
There's not enough movement off the ball when we do go forward.
Sanchez had a poor game today, but I think he was trying too many Hollywood passes because there were so few options ahead of him.
What do you think of the 4-2-3-1 formation and line up?
Guzan
Hutton - Okore - Clark - Cissoko
Sanchez - Delph
Weimann - Gil - Sinclair
Benteke
I'd even consider dropping Benteke. He looks disinterested. Yes, he has had poor service for weeks now, but he needs to put more of shift in.
Agbonlahor might be better...
Will we stay up?

Relegation could be the best thing to happen to you like Newcastle, West ham in recent years.
However you could also end up like leeds.
I'm from the midlands and i see you as the biggest club around here. I hope you get back to the level you were at under Martin O'neil in the near future

Lambert is your problem.
He has played defensive football against teams Villa could beat.
Then he decides to play open football against Arsenal.
He doesnt seem to know when to attack and when to defend. Which is pretty basic stuff really....

No business at Villa today
Posted at 13:09
"Just had it confirmed that Aston Villa expect to do no business today - despite sliding towards the relegation zone. So their only cash outlay in this transfer window remains the £2.75m for Carles Gill. There was also the loan deal that brought Scott Sinclair from Manchester City. Tom Cleverley will remain on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season."
LOL!
