Well that fight pretty much went as i expected. A points win Vs a fighter who always takes a lot of hits and always gets cut up. However, I will be honest - for one of the greatest fighters of his time if not the greatest, I said at the time of his injury at his age he should hang up his gloves. And last night for me only confirmed my fears. Last night wasnt the Spider, it was maybe an Incy Wincy Spider, but not THE Spider. He looked slow (ok he has been out for a long time), he looked scared of going forward to attack, there was no cockyness, no power and he got hit a lot. A lot of the top5/10 in my opinion would have a field day against this version of the Spider.
So what do we think - will he improve over coming fights, or is this it for the Spider?

I don't watch a lot of MMA, but caught the last round of this. Didn't know who was fighting or what Silva looked like, was suprised when the commentators were saying his name, cos even then I couldn't work out which one was him for a minute. That's after hearing SO much about him over the years.

I've seen his name mentioned often in articles, so am very aware of his legend. Hence my suprise at seeing him take it on points after an average at best last round.
