West Ham/FA Cup?

I noticed this but I would be amazed if we were that lucky. West Ham seem confident that they can escape a ban.

18 days seems a long time to me. If it had been 2 or 3 days, I could understand the fuss, but 18 days is plenty of time for an injury to clear up. Presumably the back injury was genuine, and his country wrote him off and picked and settled on their final squad before the ACON started, so the player cannot then be expected to fly out to join his national team squad surely? Obviously I don't know all the facts but I think it would be harsh on West Ham to get expelled.
