Redmond

Needs to be starting regularly in the league now after his performance last night. He's proved hes good enough, what a talent... my only worry is he could tear this league apart and one of the big boys will snap him up, most likely Arsenal. I'm serious when I say he will be a future England star.

Lets get him on a long term contract, after all some of the old Blues fans I have talked to say they haven't seen anyone come through the ranks as exciting as Redmond since TF

Redmond looked good last night, only nit picks would be he over ran the ball a few times, once he gets a bit more physical, experience and his crossing improves then what a player we have on our hands.

Reminds me a lot of Theo Walcot, fits with how we played because a number of times we was like a Arsenal last night

Banjo,

He's a great crosser already. he put over a couple of great crosses in the first half that would have been banged home by more experienced forwards.

My concern would be that Houghton doesn't play him so often that he's burnt out by Christmas. At 17, he is still slight, physically, and he will be target for full backs frustrated at having been given the runaround by him.

He really is a brilliant prospect though - best individual attacking performance I've seen in a long time by a Blues player.

Hughton isn't stupid, he can't ignore a performance like that. Thank god that McLeish has gone, because if anyone could ruin a prospect like Redmond, it would be him.

Aside from Zarate, I can't remember someone being so confident in taking on players and attacking in past decade for Blues.

As i said i was just penny pinching and nit picking

Once he gets more experience and beefs up a little he would be class, his crossing is just the weakest area out of his passing, crossing, dribbling, attacking and finishing from what i have seen.

Not that its not good, hey if Jerome could pass and cross and controll the ball like Redmond he would be world class

As far as players who would take players on, well we had Bentley, Hleb, Quincy, Sinclair all those did have the convidence to take players on, but all not used enough under McLeish because he just never knew how to use attacking flair players.

I cant see why Redmond was not used off the bench more, (then again who was used off the bench under Eck). As he has shown me that he also does his fair share of defencive cover. Which is what let players down like Hleb, Quincy, Zarate and Kapo under McLeish.

Redmond and Beausajour do their fair share, and thats why i cant understand why McLeish prefered RCM Fahey at LM over them.

As good as he is, one of the most impressive things about the lad is how mature he appears to be on the pitch, many called for him to start last season however many said he was to young. I do not believe in this one little bit. If you are good enough you areold enough, ala Owen. Its credit to the blues coaching staff who seem to have kept his feet on the floor whilst letting his talent go free.
Last night I was in the Gill Merick stand, as the players were clapped off at half time I shouted over, well done Redmond to wich he tilted his head in my direction, grinned and winked. The lad his lovin his football at the mo, it makes sense to tie him into a big deal, if for nothing else but for finnancial gain if we lose him to a better team but for now lets enjoy the football he brings to St Andrews

Francis wasn't too young, neither is Redmond. Good enough old enough applies. But you do need to manage peaks and troughs of performance and mental state. I also thought Nathan looked very physically strong last night. A couple of times going in hard with far more senior players.

CYFC. Regarding big guns sniffing round Redmond I said the same thing on another thread last night.
Tom Ross pointed it out on the radio in the car last night.
RZA says we have him tied for 3 years so he's good for the next two.
A couple of things from last night.
Ridgewell was in executive box 6 in the old stand last night. I got in the ground around 6:45, in the GM and spotted him and Dann enjoying a beer and the game.
Next was the crowd size. 27,600 and something. There were never 2,000 empty seats. When me and my daughter went in via the away fans carpark we never went through the turnstiles but was guided through a side gate where stewards checked the tickets. Is this a fiddle or something?
Apart from a sore throat today the memory of last night will be up there with the Villa 3-0 and Carter and That penalty shoot out amongst other great games.
Nathan Redmond is a blue....

I think there were around 2000 seat empty. Small though it was the away area was mostly empty, a fair few open seats in the Gill Merrick, the odd ones here and there in the Garrison Lane where I sit, and the same sort of smattering in the Tilton and Kop. Just over 2000 would be a bout right.

Funny thing about Ridgewell and Dann, wonder if they are injuried

We know what that means, Panu does not want them cup tried incase any offers come in.

Watch as soon as transfer window closes if none leave, then you see Jerome, Dann and Ridgewell Magically become fit and playing in all competitions.

Anyone think if we play 4,4,2 that maybe Redmond should play upfront?

I know our best 4,5,1 formation would be to play Redmond, Beausajour and Burke as a attacking midfield in a 4,2,3,1 maybe Gomis for one of the above.

But maybe Redmond could do well up front, his goal was very good and he was so lose to getting a 2nd.
