If Wladimir Klitschko fought in the 1970's

how well would he have done against some of the very best Heavyweight Champions of all time in Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Holmes etc ?

Would Wlad have emerged as the dominant figure ? Would he have won a few and lost a few? Or would he have been totally shown up in that era ?

I honestly have no idea and I think a decent argument could be made for any of those options.

If I had to go with any of the options it would probably be the middle one but I'm open to anyone trying to convince me of the other two.

I'll be honest and say that Klitschko fights put me to sleep but that doesn't mean that I don't acknowledge how good a fighter Wlad is and it's a shame we've yet to see him truly tested against a great fighter.

B'itchko pretty much grabbed and pushed him down all night and was let off with it everytime and as soon as Haye got close the ref jumped in.

Not defending Haye as he wasn't at his best, but nothing really went for him that night either inside and outside the ring. You could still see the fear in B'itchko's eyes

I think the fear your seeing in his eyes is the reflection of Hayes eyes.

Joe Frazier at 16st and 6'2 today stops him inside 3 rounds. Too many easy fights, boring spectacles and what in my opinion is a lack of bottle to have a proper trade.
Has not beaten a single decent heavyweight in his career, not one that would get into a top 50 maybe 100 all time heavies. Marking him as a top 10 heavy is laughable.

Frazier was about 5"11 I think.

Also it's not Wlad's fault that his prime years are in an era starved of very good heavyweight fighters for him to fight.

For that reason we'll never know how he would have fared against some of the all time greats.

I think we need to see a rematch with Haye at some point if Haye ever comes back but have the fight outside of Germany.

He was WBO champ, when Holyfield, Lennox and Tyson were still competing.

Haye landed something like 36 power punches to Wlad's 27 in that fight, I've see more landed in a round. But this is Wlad in his career defining fight, the pinnacle of his career.

I think Wlad won the fight, the jab jab grab technique he employed was stopped by the ref, though he did have a point deducted, it could have been more and earlier.

Wlad is so good technically but also mentally, it would be hard to see even an Ali wind him up to the extent he did with boxers he was facing.

He has kind off been wasted in his generation but with the difference in fitness and dietricians etc over the years its so hard to judge.

Nonsense Ali, Foreman, Lewis, Liston, Holmes, Louis, Tyson, Frazier etc all wipe the floor with him and not hard to see. A fat Corrie Sanders blasted him out.
