Liverpool 3-2 Spurs Match Thread

Great win. Not sure we really deserved it as didn't think we played that well, but we battled well and ground it out.
Spurs played well but they are too easy to score against. I knew Danny Rose would be a weak link for them defensively and so it proved.
We are starting to pick up knocks and injuries now, going to be a big test for the whole squad with all the games we have, its busy busy.
We need contributions from everyone and the subs all contributed today. Lovren did ok, Lallana has got an assist and Mario got a goal.

Balo has been a pile of poo for us this season, but boy that quality was so needed when it came..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Balotelli will wrongly get the headlines because Lallana did the hard work there to put it on a plate.

Ian Rush will be forever thankful to the 'players' that put it on a plate for him over the years.

Slight difference though from Rush getting a tonne of goals and Balotelli getting one. Soldado got a winner for us earlier in the season.

True, but you can't deny the goals you really need are worth a lot more. Rushie is a legend because he scored all types of goals over many years, but that goal right there was massive for us tonight.

Yeah agreed, tonight's goal was a massive one. Other teams could have pulled away but you nicked it and are now firmly in the mix.

We get so many free kicks and corners but never come close scoring. It happened against Arsenal with Skrtel header. Shelvey own goal.
Arsenal have scored more goals from set pieces than any other pl team and are 2nd after West Ham scoring from headers. They have changed. They have also become defensive and play counter attacking football. Watched their highlight. Leicester were very unlucky not to get anything from the game.

BTW
That was an impressive performance from a visiting team I I have seen for many years at Anfield. I think Pochettino will give your team a massive boost over the next few years.
Harry Kane puts me in mind of Jimmy Greaves at times which must be another huge plus for the club. I think we will see many more great matches between the clubs over the next few years.

Thanks.
Even when we've lost games recently we have been very competitive which makes a change from last couple of seasons.
Both sides look to have an approach of how they want to play, which didn't seem the case last year with us or earlier in the season with you. I think both sides will continue to improve.
Also helps when you have a good striker... Kane/Sturridge
