TEAM NEWS
Liverpool's Raheem Sterling will miss the game with the foot injury which forced him off against Everton.
Lucas is ruled out after injuring his thigh, but Adam Lallana could return and Philippe Coutinho should be fit.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino may name an unchanged side after reporting no new injuries following their win in the North London derby.
Alternatively, Nacer Chadli could be recalled after coming on as a substitute in the last two games.
MATCH PREVIEW
The battle for Champions League qualification is heating up, and Liverpool and Tottenham are both in contention and on form.
With Liverpool unbeaten in eight league games and Spurs suffering just one defeat in 12, this should be a fierce contest under the lights at Anfield.

At the end of the day you cannot win them all, and that's how I'll reflect on this match.
The subs seemed odd but I didn't feel they lost us the game.

Kane could have had a penalty, was he getting the ball? Not sure, probably counted against him.

Whether or not he was going to get the ball or not is irrelevant

Grandspurs is correct, however the ball was over the line at the point of contact, so poor as Dowd is (fitness wise) he could not give a penalty!

my only gripe and one of the last things poch needs to soert...is we are still beating ourselves.....sill mistake's...switching off...poor judgement on challenge's.
and we gotta find a way of providing our full backs, rose especially more cover....!!!!

Thats debatable and even if it was a yellow card should have been issued IMO

I personally just think Rose is a poor defender. He switches off, he takes risks, he lets players past him to easily. IMO the list of his defensive weaknesses is endless. He only ever plays well going forwards

I'm with Grandspur. I know Rose has been playing well but I'm still not a fan. I think he switches off far to easy and gift wraps the opposition goals and chances time and time again. He pulls off the odd superb tackle and does have decent ability on the ball at times but for me if we really want to go places we need a better defensive minded left back or give Ben Davies more time to develop.

don
I kust look at it that virtually every time a player attacks our left back he manages to get a cross in.
Rose either gets to tight and gets spun or is to far away and gets run at. Ok he has a bit of pace but IMO we definitely need a left back because Davies has not impressed either

You dont need to tell me on various threads over the last few weeks I have constantly pointed out the lack of protection our left back gets whether it Davies or Rose playing. Ok Eriksen has a good effect cutting inside and roaming a bit but jesus it does slaughter our left back
