I think he needs to brush up on his job interview technique because he seems to be front runner for loads of jobs but then blows it when he's interviewed.
Not sure his plain speaking patter works as well in job interviews as it does on the Sky pundit sofa.
Even the Tottenham old-boy network couldnt get him a job at QPR

Chicken..........yes there was a compliment hidden n there๐ธ
It wasn't just saying they would not be involved in a relegation battle, it was saying whilst he was in charge it would never ever happen again!๐๐

I just think its a general comment and shouldn't be scrutinised too much.
Teams who generally finish Top 4 will say they can win the title, teams who generally finish below top 4 will say they can finish top 4, the teams who finish mid-table will say they can finish in a Europa position and I suppose for the teams at the bottom will say they wont be in a relegation scrap - always aim higher and all that...

Despite all the comments Sherwood got the sack because he is not a good manager. He was not a good manager for us despite some pointing at the results he got.
He won games against lowly teams and got us knocked out of every cup. Bad choice by Levy and an even worse choice by Villa.

As far as i'm aware, every manager we've had since 2009 has got us knocked out of every cup...and before that every manager since 1999.
I dont know why this makes Sherwood so bad compared to the rest.
Love him or hate him, Sherwood's Premiership league record are second to no other Spurs manager.
By all means you can critisize his personality (although i'm not sure what that has to do with football), by all means criticize his style (please specify), or even his record at Villa, but you cannot criticise the overall job he did, with absolutely no transfers of his own, no time to imbed players and no pre-season, for Spurs.
He was a success at Spurs, albeit his reign at Villa was a total disaster.

Thats a matter of opinion, IMO he took over a squad that had a lot of good players. He beat teams that anybody with half a brain could have beaten as we had the better players. He lost games that anybody with half an ounce of sense would have won.
That does not make a good manager.
If you took over as manager and our run of games was Bournemouth, Norwich, Sunderland, Newcastle and Grimsby in the cup you should win every one of those games as those teams are poor.
That would give you 5 wins out of 5 would that make you a great manager?
Sherwood was and is a poor manager as his time at Villa proved. He had a summer transfer window with Villa and they are now bottom of the league. He won one game with them this season and that was drastically against the run of play against a team that are almost certain to face relegation this season.
He got the sack cos he was useless and I dont care how you try to use stats to influence things I dont use stats I use my eyes and experience. So put forward what stats you like my opinion will remain the same and as Spurs and Villa both sacked him I am obviously not the only person to think that way.
If you want a stat that is relevant try this one.
Two prem jobs, in both for under a year and sacked in both cases. That to me is a stat which shows what capabilities he has as a manager
