Oscar De La Hoya talking sense.

http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/432040/sports/boxing/why-mayweather-won-t-fight-pacquiao-according-to-oscar-de-la-hoya

Well said De La Hoya

The very best fighters lose fights. The best fighter of all time Sugar Ray Robinson lost plenty of fights over a very long career. Ali lost fights as well.

Just because you lose a fight it doesn't mean that you can't be the best or the "greatest" fighter of all time as is the case with Robinson and Ali respectively.

De La Hoya himself lost fights but there's no doubt that he'll be remembered as one of the very best.

Rocky Marciano never lost a fight but he's not remembered as the very best Heavyweight of all time because he never beat a truly great opponent in a great fight (and a past it Joe Louis doesn't count).

The truly great fighters are remembered for fighting other great fighters in truly great fights, even if they lost some of those fights.

Manny's in difficult position. He and Roach have half-admitted that fighting consistently at WW is a bridge too far (in terms of his own size and getting bigger, he obviously has the skillset) I think he only moved up to fight Mayweather.

And on the other side of that coin he's too good for anyone at lightweight. That's why he's fighting a lot at catchweights.

Pacquiao will move back down, what he has done is nothing short of remarkable, and will not be appreciated for years to come.

Floyd will have to compete at light heavyweight to match what Manny has done.

Canelo's a good fighter at JMW, that's not really one you can throw at Floyd to be fair.

Weight drained, poor footwork, low output stamina issues and green.

Pac's a phenomenon From lightweight down he's ridiculously good. Even at Welter where he admits he's uncomfortable, he's a champion.

He was amazing at welterweight too, stunning performances that smashed past your expectations.

It is a shame Floyd is such a coward it would have been a good scalp for Manny.

Manny's still turning 0's into 1's at Welterweight, that's why

Even though Bradley's should be 2

Floyd could make 140lbs but the money is at 147! Manny is moving down because he's already fought all a top rank fighters at 147lbs! Manny also when at LW came into the ring at 145lbs he's one of the guys who hydrate a lot leaving the smaller guys no chance!

Since superfeatherweight up to Lww manny has come into fights heavier than floyd and at WW and LMW the same..

Now taking mannys 147lb fight alone you have
Oscar (manny weighed more fight night)
Marquez (manny weighed more fight night)
Bradley about even
Rios pacquiao 10+ lbs more
Clottey more
Mosley more

So mannys WW fights he's been out weighed 3 times once even twice he's been the heavier fighter

Floyd's WW Fights

Mitchell more
Judah even
Baldomir more
Hatton more
Mosley more
Ortiz more
Guerrero about even
Maidana x2 more

Floyd's not fought anyone he's outweighs on fight night with 2 about even

But hey floyd always fights smaller guys
