There hasn't been a lot of fanfare after the signings or Lukaku and Mata, even in the media.
Excellent signings the both of them. AVB is going to have a hard time keeping his forwards happy though.
Drogba, Anelka, Torres, Sturridge, Mata, Malouda, Kalou and Lukaku all vying for 3 places maybe 4 if you revert to 442.
My question is why alienate Drogba your best player IMO. He is going to get much less game time due to Torres and now you already have a ready made replacement in Lukaku. Interesting selection headache for AVB.
I think instead of Lukaku you guys could have bought one more quality winger to play in a proper 442. As it stands I see a 433 with no place for Drogba.
Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Alex, Cole, Mikel (Essien), Ramires, Lampard, Mata,Torres, Anelka.
Why so quiet?

Drogba is a great option off the bench. He's better than Torres but it's nice to finally have compitition in a place. Also I'd ilke to think we're learning not to just lump it to Drogba and see what he can do when struggling.
4-3-3 we play best in. Torres, Drogba, Lukaku in the middle, and the rest for the wide places. I think and hope it'll be Strridge and Mata on the right and left respectively.Lukaku is important to the future as well. Torres is not young, he's 28 next year. If he ever starts scoring we need a replacement for him.

Drogba is 33, he hasnt got long left we bought lukaku as he is 18 with massive potential he will replace both of our strikers in a few years.
We dont need another quality winger we have Danny Sturridge.

Mr Boas won't have a hard time imo.Anelkalouda(you understand right?)might be sold this window or the next.Gradually making his young attacking team.Exciting times!!

I see your point just feel Drogba should be the main man for one more season. As a United fan Drogba scares more more than Torres and Anelka and Mata put together! Quality player. I also hope Sturridge gets a chance it would be a shame if he doesn't. Sturridge is a CF IMO but he could do a job at RW.

I think we do need another right winger but just to give a bit of competition and it would allow Kalou/Malouda to leave.

If you take the Anelkalouda trilogy out of that, it doesn't leave us as overloaded as you seem to think, were probably one wider player short in fact, if we could offload those three.
Malouda and Anelka slow down the play too much and Kalou, nice enough lad but runs around like a headless chicken and hasn't improved at all!

Giggs was still your best player against Spurs

It´s called having options.
Sturridge/Anelka/Kalou for the right side.
Torres/Drogba/Lukaku for central striker.
Mata/Malouda/Kalou for the left side.
I think that is a healthy balance for a squad challenging on four fronts and necessary when you consider that Drogba and Kalou will be away for up to five or six weeks in January due to the ACON.
In my opinion we´ll need all of those players as there will inevitably be injuries and suspensions as well throughout the season.

SF you could even argue that Kakuta could be on the left third choice instead of Kalou. And Benayuon can also play there.

Forgot about Kakuta.
Good point. Kakuta as third choice LW instead of Kalou.
