Well i dont know if it is actually arsene, but whoever else is behind the scenes at arsenal, what the hell is stopping you from making the most obvious of additions to this seriously weak squad? Ive never seen arsenal start a premierleague season this bad, when monday arrives we will all be embarassed to walk out of our front door, because we are going to have our panties withdrawn by united this sunday.
Our best team would get demolished by united and citys second team, and that is no exageration. Its a disgrace the way were acting in this window.
With the reported funds we have available we cannot afford to not spend it.
The next few days will make or break arsenal for the next 5 years. No signings, no top 4 finish, no champs league, no one will want to play for us.
Or, make a few signings and who knows?
Arsene Wenger is taking the mickey

I think Arsenal getting a real beating tomorrow might be the best thing for the club right now. This is the poorest squad we've had under Wenger and if he still can't see the need to spend then I think his time is up.

We have real issues in midfield and attack.

This is not a WUM . I’m neither an Arsenal fan nor a particular hater of Arsenal, but I am an avid football fan, have been for 50 years.
I do believe the problem you perceive you are facing goes to the heart of the problem within English football. It appears the majority of you feel that the only way you can compete is to invest large sums of money in players which hopefully will bring you trophies. Buying trophies may well be the only way they are going to be obtained, but it can’t be the sensible way forward for the whole of football.
How long before the premiership is decided on the bank balance of less than a handful of clubs? How long before this greed escalates even further and the English league replicates the Scottish League with just two clubs deciding the outcome of the trophies and subsequently the demise of football in Scotland.
Fans crave quick fixes and put pressure on managers to join the arms race. Surely it can’t go on.
I hope a club, possibly Arsenal, buck the trend, decide not to pay stupid money, live within their revenues and complete with other clubs on a level playing field with a good crop of young and experienced English footballers coached and formed into a cohesive football team.
Arsene, you and your wallet may be deciding on the future of English football.

WUM!
No seriously dude. For years we've patiently stood by as the board tightened up on buying players. We understood it was in the greater interest to get the stadium debt paid off first.
We've now reached a point where the worst of the stadium debt has been paid off well in advance. We allegedly have a transfer kitty of £80m or thereabouts. We consistenly make operating profits each year that are reinvested in the club somehow. Despite all this, the club still saw fit to hit paying supporters with a ticket price hike, because with the long waiting lists they knew they could get away with it.
And to compound matters, they've sold two of our best players as well as three more established squad members and have only entered the transfer market to sign youths with the exception of Gervinho.
I agree with your sentiment in general and for years saluted the way our club was run. But at this stage, you have to put your hands up and say wtf is going on?

Our defence is good provided Dijouro is DM but because we are a naturally an attacking team, once we go a goal down that's when we get in trouble.

Zigger zagger hector, i respect what your saying, but until you are in the position where you support a team that is in the position to be able to spend and compete at the very top, im not sure you will know what it is like.
For years we have watched clubs spend ridiculously, and laughed at them whilst arsene and co sit on top of their stack of cash, and then spend a tenner on an african, who we then sell for 20 odd mill.
But the game has changed, and ever since Abromovich took over at chelsea, it has been heading in this direction.
It is crystal clear that to be able to compete with the likes of united, city, chelsea and to even some extent liverpool, we will have to add to our squad. And i do not mean them youngsters arsene loves to sign. We have to spend a vast amount of money to buy the quality we need.
50 million at least needs to be spent. On 4 or 5 top players.

I understand your predicament and that your club is financially the best run in England, providing a new stadium and a fighting fund for your manager.
To some extent my club are in the same position in the Championship with supporters clambering for multi million pound signings to be made to `guarantee’ us promotion to the EPL.
So as supporters you are calling for your club battle with the sugar daddies of this world and try and compete with their bank balances this season, but what happens next season and the season after that. There has to come a point whereby the English Premier League will be all about who can spend the most, ultimately the league will be decided by the richest club, with the second richest club coming second and so on.
If this happens it will only be at the detriment of the game we all love. I would suggest you stand by your principles of a solid financial base, a team playing football on the pitch managed by a coach who knows exactly what he is doing.
But then again I would say that wouldn’t I.
