We'll start with the positive story shall we?

As some of you will remember, at last years Scottish Cup final there was a fundraising campaign to raise money to buy tickets for those who would otherwise be unable to go due to poverty. This has again been repeated for this years League Cup final and the generosity of United fans has again been evident with the campaign expected to reach £2000 today, only three days after fundraising began.

Again, I can only admire the generosity of my fellow Arabs and our commitment to helping those of us that are less well off is truly impressive.


Speaking of the cup final, tickets are on sale from this morning and my old man, who is queueing for my ticket, says the queue wasn't too bad first thing this morning. We'll see if I get one of the £28 tickets or if the Federation has bagged them all....

Tickets also go on sale for the quarter final this morning and they're priced at £20 for adults, I think £10 for concessions.



On to the less positive story - our defeat at Killie. Once again we fall apart on our travels. Our away form is utterly horrific. It's also very true that it's so much worse to lose a game with the last kick of the ball, but it's especially true when you've twice been ahead.

I've not seen the goals, but Rado was apparently at fault for two of them. Sadly we have to stick with him until the end of the season because everything I've heard about our backup goalie suggests that he's not the answer.

Defensively we were a mess, but having Fojut suspended then losing Morris at half time to injury doesn't help, and ultimately meant that we were playing four full backs across the defence. When you've got one of the worst defences in the league then this isn't going to help.

The only real positive is that Anier got on the scoresheet to break his duck and hopefully he gets a few more between now and the end of the season.

I am however starting to think we won't win the league this season.

We'll just have to settle for a cup double.
