I was delighted to see one of the most moving events I have witnessed on a rugby league ground for a very long time.
Billy Slater has got a bit of a reputation of being up himself and a lot of supporters can't stand his attitude at different times.
Well to-night he showed he is in no doubt a good human being and thoughtful of his fellow man and opponents.
David Williams the Manly winger was attempting to bust his way over the line when he was held up short, and it appeared straight away Williams was in trouble with the way 3 Manly defenders slowly and carefully peeled there way off the attacking Williams and with Slater up high going for the ball an all tackle he was sitting on the ground with Williams resting up against Slaters thigh.
Players called for the medics and the entire time they assessed the situation and brought out a neck brace and proper stretcher was nearly 10 minutes before Williams was carefully put into position on the board and stretcher and Billy Slater kept his position holding/supporting Williams neck and head very still without one thought of himself going cold and cramping lieing on the wet grass.
To you Billy Slater I congratulate.....well done mate.
A special moment in rugby league...

There is still no news on Williams condition but it appeared they took him to hospital for precautionary ex-rays.

Souths,it just goes to show that you cant allways judge a Leopard by its spots,I think on the whole most of the R/L fraternity are decent blokes who when the chips are down will look out for one another.
Now off to bed,up in 6 hours and off to Wembley and if anyone sees an old bloke wandering about looking for the stadium (eyes not to good these days)
please point me in the right direction. Cheers.
