Fat Sam - Grow up and accept the rules

"we have to do the same as what Tottenham do more often, because we stay on our feet and don't get fouls and they get touched and go down and they do get fouls"
Clear trip from behind Fatboy, even before Song had 2 hands on Kane,s back.
What a muppett
When the 90 mins was up I turned to my mate and said "gotta be 5 minutes here" - there was plus further stoppages so 6 mins spot on ....(no pun intended)

Doesnt EVERYONE refer to him as "Fat Sam" ?
I read somewhere that he is soon going to change his name by deedpoll, to avoid confusion with any other .... ermmmm... fat people called ....Sam.
His name will be "Obese Samuel, who are you calling FAT?"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think his mum called him Fat Sammy while his dad called him Fat 'eaded little barsteward. Evidently he was a natural birth...

Fat Sam - Grow up and accept the rules

Isn't calling him "Fat Sam" rather childish, or was the irony in the title intended?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
not childish at all..He is fat after all..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Plus he runs a speakeasy on the side.

If we're talking bad decisions then not only should Noble have been sent off, their second goal shouldn't have stood. I forget who it was but there was someone standing in an offside position who leapt for the ball, very nearly making contact before the goal went in. That completely distracted Rose. If that's not interfering I don't know what is. Offside's are given all the time if the intention is there to go for the ball. Contact isn't necessary for an offside decision to be made. It's about position and intent.

Go easy on Allardyce. I'm not his biggest fan but he went up in my estimation purely for this classic....

If a penalty is awarded right in the last second of a match, the referee will tell the player that there is only time allowed to take the penalty
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I would disagree that the ref has to tell a player there is only time to take the penalty kick but other than that its right.

There was enough time for the penalty and for the rebound and thats that, we may have been lucky but so what.

All managers are hypocrites if the situation had of been reversed big sam would have been spouting about the game not being over until the ref blew the final whistle and how his players kept going right until the end but instead he is whining because it cost him.

Yes we were lucky very lucky but nobody asked their player to flatten Kane and when you panic after being 2 goals up its not unusual to drop points.

Interestingly, blowing for time after a penalty save cost Spurs the title way back in 1959-60 (Sandy can confirm this). Penalty was on stroke of half time and Cliff Jones duly slotted in the rebound but got chalked off (seems thats the rule, think refs make allowances nowadays).
It was right at the end of the season and I think we drew the game and lost the title by just 1 point.

I remember that game, it was Easter 1960, it was against Man City, and you were absolutely correct Cliff Jones put the ball in from the rebound, but the ref disallowed the goal, Spurs actually went to to lose that game 1-0, coupled with another 1-0 home defeat against Chelsea a couple of days later, completely fecked up the title bid. Spurs lost the title to Burnley by two points that season. Effectively if the ref had allowed the goal, Spurs may well have gone on to win the game, and also the title. Refs, although you have to say Spurs losing two home games in a few days was something only they could do with the title at their mercy. Some things never change.

Fortunately we all know what happened the following season, no mistakes there. Our glorious Double Season.

The amount of time wasting going on was ridiculous - from the second they scored their 1st - to the last seconds. Their players were just sitting on the pitch, hoping for someone to put the ball out, but play went on so long they just dusted themselves down. Valencia went down, limped off, then seconds later out-sprinted Walker down the line.

Adrian too. He should have been booked well early for all his time wasting - but continued it until the final seconds.

It was doing my head in, which is so ironic that we scored because of added-added time because of the time wasting.

Well played ref...
