After United fail to finish in the top 4 and LVG gets sacked who do you reckon United's 4th manager in 3 years will be?
I reckon they'll go all out for Simeone but he'll opt to stay at the Champions League club. Ancelotti possibly? I think it's more likely to be a current PL manager such as Koeman or Martinez.
Next Utd manager

Charlton would have certainly had his say, as would've Fergie. For various reasons neither wanted Mou.
The Glaziers as the owners though are the ones who ultimately had the decision.
With regard to why would we have picked Moyes with no trophies over Mou with his CV. It's the same reason we picked Moyes over all the other managers with success on their cv we could have picked, they obviously saw something they liked in Moyes.

Ok well that goes against everything I heard at the time which was that the club let Fergie pick his own successor because they had such faith in him etc.

Antonio Conte.

Well Fergie would've had a huge say in it being (probably) the most trusted football man at the club and Charlton certainly would have had an input (not taken as importantly as Fergies) but obviously as owners the Glaziers ultimately make the decision.
That isn't to say they wouldn't have followed the advice from Fergie and Charlton but as owners of the club they can do whatever the hell they like.

I never once heard about Charlton having any say in Fergie's successor.
You keep mentioning Charlton so do you have any links showing how Charlton had any say at all in Moyes being appointed ?

He is one of the football people at the top levels if the club of course he would be involved in the discussion...
I'm not sure United issued a press release detailing exactly how they came to appoint Moyes....

I don't think you can say with any degree of certainty that he was though.
If as the media kept telling us Fergie chose his own successor then it's entirely possible that Charlton had absolutely no say at all in Fergie's successor.

Fergie would have certainly been the main driver behind the decision but to deny Chartlon had any input at all would be foolish.

I accepted we were Jose's second choice ages ago, I mean when you admit you were lucky to beat a team it is a clear sign they want that job
