Angel Di Maria.

Another out of sorts performance from him again tonight.

Would like to know, who thinks he will be at Utd next season?

I really hope its just a very long spell of poor form and he snaps out of it ASAP because as he shown in his early performances, he is a real top notch player.

I can't quite put my finger on why he has been so lacklustre, is it for personal reasons? Does he regret signing for us? Is his heart in Paris? Is he not right for the Pl? Is it because he has had to play in so many different positions?

There are so many questions surrounding his form and why he isn't justifying his price tag.

To get the best out of him, we really need to up the tempo and get in another exciting wide player for the opposite flank in the summer.

What position do you think suits Di Maria the best? Personally I like him out wide where he can utilise his trickery and dribbling skills, but a part of me also likes him as a Left central midfielder as part of a three man midfield.

I really do hope Di Maria snaps out of it soon, because if not, there is a real strong case to sell him in the summer, especially if someone like PSG offer big money for him.

Come on Di Maria! Show us what you've got and drive us to a top 4 finish!

There's 'of small build' and there's lightweight. The players you've named are small but they don't get knocked off the ball everytime someone gets near them - which is precisely what we're seeing with ADM. He's almost scared of the physicality of our game....which is why I don't think it'll work for him. (P.s. I never thought it would work with Mata either when we signed him a year ago.)

I don't just think it's DiMaria who's struggling, the majority don't seem to be playing like they're capable of, can't be just coincidence

LVG chose to buy him and spend a large sum bringing him here, he is largely responsible for how he performs for us in that respect.

okay I will say this again.
Watched him for years at madrid and he was good as a winger but was not much better than nani. Did not see any la liga game in13/14 where he apparently played centrally an was wc.

This reminds me of the fellani case.
Fellani had his best ever season playing in a system we did not intend to use him in when we signed him. For me our best system involves wingers and rooney off a pacy cf. In this system adm has to play as a winger and I do not expect much from him tbh.

Wouldn't be LVG's fault of he played him the the correct position, but he hasn't. So it's largely down to LVG. This player was the best player in the CL final ffs.

I happen to think he is PERFECT for the PL.

He has pace to burn, can be tricky and direct. Good stamina and he works hard for the team.

I don't think his ability is in question, its his confidence what has been his enemy I think.

The off field incident must not have helped re the burglary at his home and must surely have affected him majorly.

I hope I'm not clinging on to false hope, but I'm positive we will start to see an improved Di Maria who will become a key player for us.

as1982 said you clearly did not watch him as a winger at madrid.

He had many incosistent season and then one explosive season. The question was why was he a success in 13/14? Was it the system he played in? Was it that it finally clicked for him? Or was it just a fluke season?

No one knows and with so many uncertainties utd were stupid to pay so much for him especially if they intended to experiment with his positioning

If it was just ADM struggling, then you could say he's flopped or taking a long time to adjust.

Truth is.....none of our top top players, except our keeper, have been above a 5 or 6 out of 10 this season.

LVG has to be to blame. To have RVP, Falcao, Mata, Rooney & ADM are your disposal and still can't come up with anything that great is very worrying.
